Veronika Khomyn has been turning heads around the Rams for a while now, and this latest wave of attention has reached all the way into the locker room.
McVay and his wife spent part of their offseason vacationing overseas, and a photo from the trip showing the couple in swimwear on a boat went viral. The image has already been the source of plenty of buzz this summer, including a shirtless shot of McVay beside Khomyn that drew jokes from fans. One fan even said the coach looked ready to “slot into the defense.”
Now the conversation has gotten to the Rams themselves. 60 Minutes pointed to the moment, saying that “a viral photo of a very in-shape Sean McVay on a boat seems to have made its way around the Rams locker room.”
During an interview, Jon Wertheim asked quarterback Matthew Stafford straight up, “Have you seen the viral shot of the abs on the boat?” Stafford’s answer made it clear the photo had already made the rounds.
“Oh yeah. Oh yeah… I mean, we all were like, ‘We better hit the weight room, because this guy’s (LAUGH) shredded.’
I mean, that’s the guy- no, he’s- he’s- he’s putting the time and the effort in,” Stafford said.
Khomyn’s growing presence in Rams coverage isn’t happening in a vacuum. Earlier this year, McVay said he seriously considered walking away from coaching after a rough 5-12 season.
On the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, he said burnout had pushed him toward a job in the broadcast booth instead. He also made clear that Khomyn played a major role in changing his mind.
“She’s like, ‘You know, that never really sounded like the kind of leader you wanted to be,'” McVay recalled her telling him. “Boom.
It hit me like a ton of bricks.”
Los Angeles enters this season as a Super Bowl favorite, and an offseason trade for star pass rusher Myles Garrett has only added to the expectations. Whether Khomyn’s latest viral moment becomes a brief sideshow or just another entry in an already busy year, she has already become a familiar part of the Rams’ conversation in 2026.
