The Los Angeles Rams are 1-2 after Sunday night’s loss to the Denver Broncos, and the conversation around their receiver room is already heating up.
The latest concern is Puka Nacua, who has been sidelined with a groin and hip injury. There’s optimism that he’ll be back soon, and ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter said last week that Nuca is expected to return by Week 4, which could line him up for the Rams’ matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. ET.
Even with that return potentially around the corner, ESPN’s Ben Solak believes the Rams should still explore a trade to strengthen the position. Solak said the team is “particularly susceptible” there if injuries hit their top players, and he floated several names as possible options.
Among the first-round receivers he mentioned was the Arizona Cardinals’ Marvin Harrison Jr., who has recently surfaced in trade speculation. Solak also pointed to the Los Angeles Chargers’ Quentin Johnston as a “steady producer who can eat volume” with quarterback Matthew Stafford delivering the ball.
He didn’t stop there. Solak also raised the question of whether the Buffalo Bills need both Joshua Palmer and Keon Coleman, and whether the Denver Broncos might be willing to move Courtland Sutton.
The Rams already have Davante Adams and Terrance Ferguson among their key pass-catching options, but the idea behind Solak’s pitch is simple: if Los Angeles is serious about staying in the Super Bowl conversation, it can’t afford to be thin at a spot this important. Injuries have already hit the team early, including Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett, and the margin for error is getting smaller.
