The Los Angeles Rams are staring at a 2-4 record six games into the season, and the injury pileup keeps getting worse.
Edge-rushers Myles Garrett and Kobie Turner, defensive tackle Poona Ford, and tight end Terrance Ferguson are already on injured reserve. Now Davante Adams has joined that list after hurting his hamstring in Sunday’s 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
That’s pushed the Rams’ passing game into a rough spot, especially with Puka Nacua also dealing with injuries this offseason. With the offense struggling, Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay thinks Los Angeles should move fast and bring in another top-end receiver.
Kay pointed to free agent Tyreek Hill as the answer.
“With Adams expected to miss six to 10 weeks while he recovers from a ruptured hamstring, the Rams need to offset the loss of their star wideout with a pickup on the open market. No free agent can move the needle more than Tyreek Hill,” Kay wrote.
“… Hill's résumé makes him an intriguing potential replacement, although his recovery and lengthy absence create uncertainty about how quickly he could contribute…. If healthy, his speed, route-running and elusiveness could help Los Angeles replace some of Adams' production.”
And replacing Adams won’t come easy. Through six games, he caught 30 passes on 49 targets for 480 yards and four touchdowns. That puts him eighth in receiving yards, 16th in receptions, and tied for sixth in touchdowns.
Hill isn’t the same player he was at his peak, but he could still give Matthew Stafford a real target. Over 10 seasons, Hill has 819 receptions, 11,363 yards, and 83 touchdowns. From 2017 to 2023, he posted six 1,000-yard seasons in seven years, and Kay believes he could still slot in as a strong WR3 once Adams gets back.

Rams May Be Headed For A Tough Matthew Stafford Decision
Matthew Stafford has done everything the Rams could ask of him through the first six games of the 2026 season, piling up 1,794 passing yards and sitting atop the league in that category. Even so, Los Angeles has only managed two wins, and the gap between Staffords production and the teams record has become hard to ignore as injuries continue to stack up around him.
Ty Simpson is among the younger players the Rams are weighing for more snaps as they try to navigate the stretch ahead. For a team that still has Stafford performing at a high level, the question is no longer whether he can carry an offense, but how long Los Angeles can keep asking him to do it while also trying to build a clearer path through the rest of the season. Rams Suddenly Have An Offensive Question They May Not Avoid Much Longer
The Rams keep running into the same kind of roster math that makes the rest of the NFC West worth watching. Their offense already took a hit with Davante Adams gone, and with tight end Terrance Ferguson unlikely to be back soon, the group is still waiting for more stability than it currently has. That is why the possibility of adding another receiver has started to feel less like a luxury and more like a question the team may have to answer sooner rather than later.
Across the division, the landscape is hardly getting simpler. The 49ers were pushed hard by the Commanders before escaping with a 23-17 win, a reminder that even veteran teams can leave chances on the table, while Seattle is dealing with its own uncertainty around Sam Darnold and the state of the offense. If Zach Charbonnet is back in Week 7, the Seahawks can lean more on the ground game, but for the Rams the bigger issue is whether their own passing attack can hold up long enough without another move to shore it up. Rams Injury Trouble Keeps Growing At The Worst Possible Time
The Rams depth chart keeps getting thinner at exactly the wrong moment. Los Angeles placed wide receiver Davante Adams, nose tackle Poona Ford and defensive lineman Kobie Turner on injured reserve, a blow that cuts into both the offense and the front seven as the team turns its attention to a Week 7 matchup with the Raiders. Turner is expected to miss at least four weeks, adding more strain to a roster already trying to absorb a wave of absences.
Trent McDuffie is also day-to-day with a groin injury and did not practice, while linebacker Nate Landman has entered concussion protocol, leaving the Rams with more uncertainty as the week unfolds. In response, the team signed EDGE Darryl Peterson III to the active roster and Jalen Hunt to the practice squad, another reminder that the Rams are scrambling to patch holes while the games keep coming.
