He should also be in line for red-zone carries. McCaffrey had been dealing with an undisclosed injury during the week, but he was not listed on the injury report, which confirms he’s ready to go at 100 percent.
There’s also value in rookie wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling. His salary is depressed, but the path to a bigger role is there after a strong preseason and with Ricky Pearsall injured. The 49ers could use him for chunk plays, especially if the Rams are keying on Deebo Samuels and Mike Evans.
At tight end, Colby Parkinson remains the Rams’ top option at the position. Los Angeles uses multiple tight-end sets more than anyone else, and Parkinson should stay central to that approach. He scored eight touchdowns last year and continues to be a trusted Stafford target over the middle and in the red zone, with success against the 49ers in 2025.
For a final upside play, Jake Tonges is worth a look. He enters the game as George Kittle’s backup, but Kittle is starting tonight after recovering from his ruptured Achilles injury. That recovery could mean limited usage, and Tonges may have a chance to make his mark in the red zone.
