The talent is there. Mumpfield has the kind of agility and body control that can jump off the screen when he’s right.
Now he needs to show it. He could also be one of the receivers who helps Simpson make his first throws look cleaner and more confident.
There will be plenty to watch in the preseason opener, but the offense feels like the place where the most meaningful answers might start to take shape. That’s where the Rams’ future foundation begins.
