The Los Angeles Rams receiver said in a CBS interview that James is his “NBA GOAT,” even after the 41-year-old forward’s surprising move from Los Angeles to the Philadelphia 76ers. Nacua said the decision caught him off guard.
“That was definitely not on my list (of possibilities). I thought he was returning to The Land, head back to Cleveland, or maybe join that Big Three down there in Miami,” said the two-time Pro Bowler.
Still, Nacua said the move should be an interesting one for James, pointing to the chance to keep playing at a high level alongside a young group.
“But I think it's gonna be exciting, the ability for him to continue to play at a high level and to go with a young squad. They just picked up Jaylen Brown and they got Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.”
Nacua’s admiration for James has been easy to spot for a while. James has shown up multiple times at Rams games at SoFi Stadium, including the day Nacua broke the Rams’ rookie receiving yards record in 2023.
Even with James now in Philadelphia, Nacua still wants to see him in Rams colors.
“That would be a dream come true. 100%.
I got a No. 12 for you. Just say the word,” said Nacua.
Nacua is also in the middle of a major offseason as he works through a string of controversies tied to his mental health, with his focus on getting better and being a positive influence on the Rams.
