Kelly Stafford Rips NFL Over Rams Schedule Frustration

Amidst a strong season for Matt Stafford, his wife Kelly Stafford voices sharp criticism over an unusual bye week dilemma facing the Rams, questioning the NFL's scheduling decisions.

Kelly Stafford had plenty to smile about after the Rams’ 24-9 win over the Chargers, but the NFL’s schedule has her fired up.

The Rams improved to 4-4 with the victory at SoFi Stadium, where Stafford was in the stands as usual. But the real issue for her wasn’t the result. It was what comes next for Los Angeles in Week 11 of the 2026 NFL season.

The Rams do have a bye assigned for that week, but it doesn’t come with the kind of true break most teams get. Instead of the usual 13 to 14 days off, Los Angeles is back in action only 9 to 10 days later. Their next game is set for Wednesday, November 25, 2026, against the Green Bay Packers in the NFL’s first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game.

That setup did not sit well with Stafford, who took to her Instagram story to call out the league. “Just curious to hear the thought process behind making the Rams the only team in the NFL without a true bye week,” she wrote.

She added, “Because damn, after 18 years around this league, even I need a week off during the season… and I have never played a single snap.”

Stafford closed with, “I’m tired just watching from the stands. Can’t imagine how the guys feel,” she finished.

It’s the second time in a matter of days that she has taken aim at the NFL.

And while she’s frustrated with the schedule, her husband has given her plenty to enjoy. Through eight games, Matt Stafford has thrown for 2,146 passing yards and 15 touchdowns.

Kelly Stafford Rips NFL Over Rams Schedule Before Holiday Spotlight

Kelly Stafford took aim at the NFL on Instagram this week, venting about the way the Rams 2026 schedule is set up around their bye. Her complaint centered on the timing of the break, with Los Angeles getting a shorter reset than some other teams before heading back into action.

The issue is especially pointed because the Rams are slated to return for a Thanksgiving Eve game only 9 to 10 days later, leaving little room for recovery before one of the leagues marquee holiday windows. It is also the second recent time Stafford has publicly criticized the NFLs scheduling, adding another layer to a gripe that appears to be sticking with her. [Read more 🡒]

Rams Fans Have A New NFC West Threat To Watch Closely

The Rams are still trying to climb back into the NFC West race at 4-4, and the playoff picture around them is getting more complicated by the week. Seattle, which has also had an uneven season, is now reportedly in trade talks with the Colts for running back Jonathan Taylor, a move that would be aimed at giving the Seahawks a bigger jolt on offense as they try to stay in the mix.

For Los Angeles, the timing matters because any upgrade in Seattles backfield would ripple beyond the division standings. Taylor would give the Seahawks a more dangerous running game and, in turn, could make an already crowded NFC wild card chase even tighter for the Rams as they try to make up ground. [Read more 🡒]

Rams May Finally Need Rookie CJ Daniels In A Bigger Role

The Rams have been slow to lean on their rookie class this season, but that approach may be starting to shift as the offense keeps sorting through its passing-game issues. Tight end Max Klare has recently earned more snaps and made the most of them, and now the attention is moving to wide receiver CJ Daniels, whose role has been limited to this point.

Sean McVay said Daniels may be in line for more opportunities moving forward as Los Angeles evaluates its receiver depth. For a team still looking for more consistency through the air, the question is no longer whether the rookies are ready to be part of the conversation, but how quickly the Rams are willing to expand that conversation.
