Davante Adams has spent 13 NFL seasons collecting the kind of perks most players can only dream about. Now the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver has added a fast-food prize that might be the most absurd one yet: a “Taco Bell Purple Card” that apparently gives him free tacos for life.
Adams showed off the ultra-rare card on Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams” show and said only two people in the world have one. The card, he explained, lets him walk into Taco Bell and enjoy the kind of access most people would never imagine.
“I can go in there and buy $7 million worth of Taco Bell today if I wanted, and go have a Taco Bell party,” Adams joked with the sports media personality. “Only two people have the purple card right now.”
That kind of flex is right in line with the unusual relationship Adams has built with the brand. Taco Bell has turned him into one of its most recognizable spokesmen in recent years, but the partnership only happened after Adams made a very specific request before signing on for commercials. Back in 2022, he asked for his own in-home Taco Bell restaurant, and the company agreed.
Adams is not alone in the purple-card club. Actor and comedian Kevin Hart showed off his own card in August while rolling up to a Taco Bell drive-thru.
It’s a ridiculous perk for a player who already sits in elite company on the field. Adams is a three-time All-Pro receiver and still one of the best in the league in his 13th season. He’s also on one of the most explosive offenses in football, even if the tacos probably don’t play much of a role in keeping that physique together during the regular season.
The Rams opened with a rough 27-7 Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, who picked up the first-ever win in a regular-season matchup played in Australia. But Sean McVay’s team answered in Week 2 with a commanding 28-6 win over the New York Giants. Los Angeles is back on the field this weekend against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football.
