Brian Thomas Jr Linked To Obvious Trade Fit If Jaguars Move On

Despite mixed signals from the Jaguars, a trade with the Rams could be a pivotal move for both teams in determining Brian Thomas Jr.'s future.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been sending some mixed signals this offseason regarding their third-year wide receiver, Brian Thomas Jr. Back in 2024, Thomas burst onto the scene as one of the league's most electrifying rookies, even garnering some Rookie of the Year buzz despite a stacked quarterback class.

However, his performance dipped significantly in 2025. Given that Thomas wasn't drafted by the current Jaguars regime of GM James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen, it's no surprise his name keeps surfacing in trade talks.

The Jaguars made big moves last year to draft Travis Hunter, enjoyed a breakout season from Parker Washington, and acquired Jakobi Meyers, who became a reliable target for Trevor Lawrence. We'll believe Thomas is staying put only after the 2026 NFL Draft concludes. But if a trade does happen, the Los Angeles Rams seem like the most logical destination.

Why the Rams? Well, their interest in acquiring wide receiver talent is no secret.

Earlier this offseason, there were whispers about the Rams eyeing a trade for AJ Brown from the Eagles. If Thomas is available, it's hard to imagine the Rams not being interested.

Rams GM Les Snead is known for his aggressive "F*** Them Picks" strategy. Remember when he brought Matthew Stafford to LA? Now, with the Rams holding the 13th overall pick in this year's draft, the conversation with the Jaguars gets even more intriguing.

The Jaguars, currently without a first-round pick due to the Travis Hunter trade, might find Thomas as their ticket back into the first round. And the Rams, dealing with an aging Davante Adams and some off-field uncertainties with Puka Nacua, could see Thomas as a valuable long-term asset on a team-friendly deal.

This potential trade could be a win-win. The Rams get a proven NFL receiver, and the Jaguars get a shot at a first-round pick, aligning both teams with their current goals. If the Jaguars are indeed open to offers, this could be a pivotal move for both franchises.
