Luka Doncic’s offseason hosting duties in Slovenia have turned into a full-blown Lakers bonding tour, and the latest stop had the team out on the water.
On Saturday, viral photos showed members of the Los Angeles Lakers kayaking together during the group’s stay in Doncic’s home country, another addition to a trip that has already mixed workouts, basketball, golf, fishing and sightseeing ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Doncic has been the center of it all, reportedly chartering a plane for 14 Lakers players to make the trip. The idea is simple enough: get the new group together, away from the grind and the spotlight, and start building something before training camp even begins.
Los Angeles kicked off the Slovenia visit Thursday with a “First Supper” that included Austin Reaves, Bronny James, Walker Kessler and several of the team’s other new additions after LeBron James signed with the Philadelphia 76ers last month.
The itinerary reportedly also features dinner at one of Doncic’s favorite restaurants, fishing at Lake Bled and a round of golf.
Doncic offered another look at the trip early Saturday, posting several images of Lakers players working out together on the basketball court. Later, the kayaking pictures surfaced, showing the group’s latest team-building detour.

For a Lakers roster that has been reshaped, the trip gives the group an early chance to connect outside the usual season pressure. And with James gone, Doncic is clearly stepping into the role of the face of the franchise, using Slovenia as the backdrop for the Lakers’ next chapter.
