Chris Gotterup Stuns With Advice From Austin Reaves and Blake Griffin

Chris Gotterup captures his fourth PGA Tour title, inspired by encouragement from NBA stars Austin Reaves and Blake Griffin.

Chris Gotterup's star keeps shining brighter on the PGA Tour, as he recently clinched his fourth title at the WM Phoenix Open held at TPC Scottsdale, Arizona. In a thrilling sudden-death playoff, Gotterup edged out Hideki Matsuyama, marking his second win of the year.

This victory catapulted him past world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler on the money list, with Gotterup pocketing a cool $1.7 million.

At just 26, Gotterup is playing with the poise of a seasoned pro. Yet, he’s still getting some playful advice from fellow Oklahoma alumni: Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves and former NBA star Blake Griffin.

In a video shared by the PGA Tour, Reaves encouraged him, saying, "Just continue doing what you're doing. Two wins out of three tournaments is pretty special."

Griffin chimed in humorously, "Whatever you do, don't listen to us."

Despite spending only a year at Oklahoma, Gotterup feels a deep connection to the school and appreciates the support from Reaves and Griffin. "That's funny.

That's awesome," Gotterup remarked. "They've actually both been reaching out to me and stuff, so it's cool."

Gotterup also acknowledged Reaves' skills on the golf course and expressed an interest in playing with him someday. He even complimented Griffin's swing, adding a touch of camaraderie to the mix.

As Gotterup continues his ascent in the rankings, taking down big names in significant tournaments, he solidifies his reputation as one of golf's most thrilling young talents. When NBA stars are taking notice, it’s clear that Gotterup is on a remarkable path.
