The LA Kings have made a strategic move by acquiring forward Jan Jeník from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for defenseman Samuel Bolduc. This trade highlights the Kings' focus on bolstering their offensive depth.

Jeník, at 25 years old, brings a solid track record from his time in the American Hockey League (AHL). This season, he’s been a key player for the Belleville Senators, racking up nine goals and 17 points over 41 games. Standing at 6-1 and weighing 205 pounds, Jeník has amassed 166 career points in 258 regular-season AHL games, showcasing his consistent ability to contribute offensively.

His standout professional season came in 2021-22 with the Tucson Roadrunners, where he set personal bests with 17 goals, 30 assists, and a total of 47 points in 51 games. Jeník also has playoff experience, adding three points in five Calder Cup Playoff games.

Originally drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Jeník has skated in 24 NHL games, splitting time between the Coyotes and the Senators. During this stint, he managed to score four goals and tally six points, hinting at his potential to make an impact at the NHL level.

Before turning pro, Jeník was a standout with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he notched 35 goals and 86 points in just 54 games. His international experience is noteworthy as well.

Representing Czechia, Jeník shone at the 2018 IIHF U-18 World Junior Championship, earning recognition as one of the top three players on his team. He continued to represent his country at the U-20 level in 2019 and 2020, contributing two goals and five points across six games.
