Kings Fans Just Got A Full Season Of Reasons To Show Up

Discover the exciting line-up of themed nights and exclusive giveaways as the LA Kings celebrate their 60th anniversary season at Crypto.com Arena.

The Los Angeles Kings are building their 60th anniversary season around more than just hockey. When the club unveiled its 2026-27 promotional schedule on Tuesday morning, the list included themed nights, giveaways and special events at Crypto.com Arena that will give fans plenty to circle on the calendar.

The season opener at home on Oct. 6 against the Florida Panthers sets the tone right away. Every fan in the building will receive a 60th anniversary retro goalie mask, a giveaway that leans directly into the franchise’s history and fits the moment the Kings are trying to create. It also arrives with the added buzz of the team’s first home game this fall under new head coach Peter Laviolette.

One of the most eye-catching promotions comes a little later in the year with Marvel Night on Dec. 9 against the Anaheim Ducks. That one includes a comic book poster as the arena giveaway, plus a special ticket pack add-on that offers a Dr.

Doom x Adrian Kempe bobblehead. The matchup itself gives the night a little extra edge, with the Kings hosting both a Southern California rival and a Pacific Division opponent.

The holiday stretch brings another familiar theme on Dec. 12, when the Kings host the Vancouver Canucks for Elf Night. The promotion includes an Elf hat giveaway and lands just a few weeks before Christmas, giving the arena a seasonal look for a divisional game.

The final themed night on the regular-season schedule arrives April 3, 2027, when the St. Louis Blues visit for Star Wars Night.

That promotion has become a fixture across pro sports, and the Kings are closing their anniversary season with it in the final stretch. Fans can also get a special ticket pack add-on for an Artemi Panarin-Skywalker themed bobblehead.

Mats Zuccarello Gives The Kings A Veteran Boost They Needed

A familiar veteran presence is heading to Los Angeles, and the Kings are hoping Mats Zuccarello can bring more than just scoring touch. After seven seasons with the Minnesota Wild, the winger signed a one-year deal for the 2026-27 NHL season, giving the Kings an experienced forward who still produced last year with 15 goals and 54 points in 59 games, then added nine points in eight playoff games.

For a roster adjusting after the departure of former captain Anze Kopitar, Zuccarello looks like the kind of steady, detail-oriented addition that can help on and off the ice. His fit will be watched closely because the Kings are not just looking for offense here, they are looking for leadership, reliability and a player who can help settle a changing room while still contributing at a high level. Kings Fans Are Already Split On The Teams Post-Kopitar Plan

The Kings are already making their intentions clear for the season after Anze Kopitar, lining up several veteran additions for 2026-27 even as the captains retirement begins to reshape the roster. The front office appears committed to staying in the playoff picture, betting that experience can help soften the blow of losing one of the most important players in franchise history.

But the fan base is not buying into a quick reset on the fly. In a survey of more than 850 Kings fans, 69 percent said they would rather see the team rebuild than push to win right away, a sign that the debate around the post-Kopitar era is already taking hold. The contrast between managements aggressive approach and the supporters patience is becoming one of the more interesting subplots around the organization. [Read more 🡒]
