The Kings are making a quick adjustment with one of their younger prospects, sending forward Vojtech Cihar from AHL Ontario to WHL Kelowna, according to the AHL’s transactions log.
Cihar, 19, was Los Angeles’ second-round pick in 2025, selected 59th overall. At the time of the draft, he was already a regular in the Czech Extraliga with Karlovy Vary, where he put up nine points in 43 games. He also flashed his offensive skill on the international stage at the World Under-18s and the World Juniors.
His 2024-25 season began in the Extraliga again, and he collected eight points in 27 games before heading to North America and joining Kelowna in December. From there, the production took off.
After finishing as the fourth-best scorer at the World Juniors, he turned into a point-per-game player for the Rockets the rest of the way, finishing with 12 goals and 19 assists in 31 games. He added 13 points in nine playoff games and helped Kelowna get to the Memorial Cup.
That stretch, along with his experience in Czechia, earned him a look with Ontario. Because he was drafted out of Czechia, he was not bound by the NHL-CHL transfer agreement, which opened the door for him to join the Reign. But the fit never quite clicked in the AHL, where he managed only one assist in eight games.
Now the Kings are giving him a different path. Instead of keeping him in a limited role, they’re sending him back to junior where he should have a much larger opportunity, with the World Juniors coming up next month.
