Kyle Tucker Joins Dodgers and Aims to Make a Big Impact

Kyle Tucker embraces a supporting role with the Dodgers, aiming to boost a star-studded lineup in pursuit of another World Series triumph.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have taken their already formidable lineup to new heights by signing Kyle Tucker to a four-year, $240 million deal this offseason. Tucker joins a powerhouse roster featuring MVP winners Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman, alongside All-Stars like Will Smith, Max Muncy, and Teoscar Hernández.

Tucker, known for his understated demeanor, was drawn to the Dodgers partly because he won't have to shoulder the pressure of being the sole star. He's fitting in well with his new teammates and is focused on contributing to the Dodgers' quest for a third straight World Series title.

Reflecting on his journey, which took him from the Astros to the Cubs and now the Dodgers, Tucker shared, “Every organization is unique. The Dodgers have done exceptionally well in recent years, thanks to a front office that knows how to assemble a top-tier team. I’m just here to play my game and contribute as I always have.”

Coming off a solid 2025 season with the Cubs, where he posted a .266/.377/.464 line with 22 homers and 73 RBIs, Tucker earned his fourth straight All-Star nod and picked up his second Silver Slugger Award. A former Gold Glove winner, he's also had three top-20 MVP finishes, including a fifth-place finish in 2023.

This season, Tucker is expected to bat second in the lineup, poised to be a key left-handed force for the Dodgers.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is optimistic about Tucker's potential, seeing him as a possible MVP candidate. “He’s got another Gold Glove in him,” Roberts noted.

“With the talent around him, I see more runs and RBIs in his future. He’s a five-tool player with a competitive spirit and intelligence on the field.”

Roberts also emphasized Tucker’s alignment with the team’s day-to-day winning mentality. “We’re committed to helping him improve, and his focus on winning fits perfectly with our philosophy.

An MVP candidate? Absolutely.

Another Gold Glove? I believe so.”
