Dodgers Unveil Spring Hat Featuring One Bold Twist Fans Didn't See Coming

The Dodgers' eye-catching new spring training cap blends tradition with desert flair as the team gears up for another championship run in Arizona.

Dodgers Unveil New Spring Training Cap as 2026 Cactus League Approaches

Spring is almost here, and with it comes a fresh look for the Los Angeles Dodgers. MLB dropped the full slate of 2026 Cactus League spring training caps on Wednesday, and the Dodgers’ edition brings a blend of tradition and desert flair that’s already turning heads.

The centerpiece of the cap is a white, cursive “D” stitched onto the classic Dodger blue crown - a logo that’s become a spring staple since 2024, and one that longtime fans will remember from its earlier run in the 2010s. But this year’s version adds some new wrinkles: a clean white brim and a bold outline around the “D” give the cap a sharper, more modern edge.

What really sets the hat apart, though, is the desert-themed detailing. A blooming cactus sits just beneath the “D,” tying it directly to the Arizona setting of spring training. On the side panel, a patch featuring a cactus and the number 26 (marking the year, of course) rounds out the design - a nod to both the calendar and the Cactus League itself.

From Dodgertown to the Desert

The Dodgers’ spring training roots run deep, but not in the desert. Before making the move west, the team spent over five decades in Florida, calling Holman Stadium in Vero Beach home from 1953 through 2008.

Back then, it was known as Dodgertown - a place rich with history, dating back to their Brooklyn days. That facility still stands today as the Jackie Robinson Training Complex, a tribute to one of baseball’s most enduring legacies.

The shift to Arizona came in 2009, after a deal was struck in 2008 between then-owner Frank McCourt and the city of Glendale. Since then, the Dodgers have shared Camelback Ranch with the Chicago White Sox, and the setup is as big-league as it gets. We’re talking 13 full-size practice fields, a 13,000-seat stadium, and all the high-end training amenities a modern contender could ask for.

The Road to 2026 Begins

The countdown to baseball is officially on. Pitchers and catchers report to Camelback Ranch on Friday, February 13 for their first official workout, while the full squad will take the field together for the first time on Thursday, February 19.

The Dodgers kick off their spring schedule on Saturday, February 21 against the Los Angeles Angels - a team that had their number last year, sweeping all six matchups. That early test could set the tone for a spring full of competition and evaluation, as the front office and coaching staff work to finalize a roster built to chase a third straight championship-caliber campaign.

With 33 games on the spring training slate, there will be no shortage of opportunities for young talent to make an impression, veterans to tune up, and position battles to play out. And they'll be doing it all while rocking a cap that blends Dodger tradition with a fresh desert twist.

Whether you're a fan of the new lid or more of a classicist when it comes to headwear, one thing's for sure - baseball is back, and the Dodgers are ready to get to work.
