Dodgers Stun White Sox with Thrilling Comeback in Spring Breakout Game

Dodgers triumph over White Sox with a dramatic comeback, spotlighting James Tibbs III's standout performance.

If you were looking for action, the Dodgers and White Sox delivered in a Spring Breakout game that had fans on the edge of their seats. The Dodgers, trailing 8-2 by the middle of the second inning, clawed their way back to snag an electrifying 11-10 victory. This comeback was fueled by some of their most promising young hitters, making it a night to remember.

James Tibbs III was the hero of the evening. Facing Nick Weyrich and his unorthodox delivery, Tibbs III showed no hesitation swinging on a 3-0 count.

He connected with a fastball, sending it soaring to the opposite field for a three-run homer. This marked his eighth extra-base hit and fourth home run of the spring.

Tibbs III, acquired from the Red Sox for Dustin May last season, has been on fire since his strong finish in Tulsa. Keep an eye on him; he's proving to be a rising star.

Meanwhile, Josue De Paula, another top prospect, made his mark in a quieter but effective manner. The young outfielder reached base in three of his four plate appearances, scored twice, and drove in a run.

With a spring batting line of 9 for 24, De Paula went 1 for 2 with two walks and even swiped a base. His performance continues to impress as he showcases his potential.

On the mound, Cristian Zazueta had a mixed outing. While he technically didn't allow an earned run, his performance was a bit rocky.

A throwing error on a pickoff attempt led to the first run, and a defensive miscue contributed to a seven-run second inning for the White Sox. Zazueta exited with three runs on the board and the bases loaded.

Lucas Wepf, unfortunately, couldn't stop the bleeding. Thankfully, the Dodgers’ bats were relentless, going 8 for 18 with runners in scoring position, and only needed two extra-base hits to tally their 10 runs.

Looking ahead, the Dodgers are gearing up for the Freeway Series against the Angels at Angel Stadium. The pitching matchup features the promising George Klaasen against the talented Tyler Glasnow.

First pitch is set for 6:07 p.m. PT, and it promises to be an exciting lead-up to Opening Day.
