Dodgers Reassign Top Prospects: What's Next for These Rising Stars?

Dodgers' top prospects look to bounce back after camp cuts, with hopes of leveraging Cactus League and simulated games to boost their chances for a return.

The Los Angeles Dodgers made a significant move by reassigning 12 players to the minors after their game against the Athletics. But don't count these players out just yet. While they're out of the running for a 40-man roster spot this season, they're still in the mix for Cactus League action.

Among those sent down are pitchers like Patrick Copen and Jerming Rosario, as well as catchers Nelson Quiroz and Chuckie Robinson. Infielders Keston Hiura and Matt Gorski, along with outfielders Josue De Paula and Kendall George, also find themselves in the minors. Additionally, outfielder Ryan Ward and pitcher Ronan Kopp have been optioned to Triple-A.

Even though these players have been reassigned, they remain eligible to return for spring training games. The Dodgers are keeping them sharp with simulated games in the minor league camp, allowing for strategic adjustments. Notably, Roki Sasaki is set to pitch in one of these games, as manager Dave Roberts focuses on building him up.

Who might we see back in spring training action? Josue De Paula stands out, having played in 14 games and boasting a .375 average with an .881 OPS.

As the team's top prospect, he makes a compelling case for another appearance. Ryan Ward, who had the most at-bats before his Triple-A move, could also return, despite a less impressive .401 OPS.

Whether or not these players make a comeback in spring training, they’re all aiming to leave a lasting impression and climb the ranks within the Dodgers' powerhouse organization. The question remains: will any of these reassigned players make their way back into the spotlight this spring?
