Dodgers Prospect Zyhir Hope Stuns With Serious Home Run Power

Zyhir Hope, a rising star in the Dodgers' farm system, captivates with his impressive home run prowess and potential major league future.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are sitting pretty with a wealth of minor league talent in the outfield, and one name that's generating significant buzz is Zyhir Hope. Alongside Josue De Paula, Hope is making waves as a standout prospect.

Hope's journey began when he was picked in the 11th round of the 2023 MLB Draft. He chose to dive straight into the professional scene, bypassing a commitment to the University of North Carolina. Initially snagged by the Chicago Cubs 14 picks before the Dodgers had a chance, Hope inked a deal with a $400,000 bonus-quite a sum for an 11th-rounder.

However, the Dodgers weren't out of the picture for long. They successfully traded Michael Busch and Yency Almonte to acquire Jackson Ferris and Hope. Since joining the Dodgers, Hope has been a beacon of potential, showcasing skills that have the organization buzzing.

Standing at 5'10" and weighing 193 pounds, Hope is a lefty both at bat and in the field. At just 21, he's already making his mark at the Double-A level.

Zyhir Hope's Prospect Ranking

According to MLB.com, Hope ranks as the No. 27 prospect in baseball and is second in the Dodgers' farm system. ESPN places him at No. 40 overall, third within the organization.

FanGraphs also lists Hope as the No. 2 Dodgers prospect.

Meanwhile, The Athletic’s Keith Law ranks him at No. 36, and Baseball America has him at No. 63, fourth in the system.

Performance in 2025

Hope's 2025 season mirrored the path of fellow prospect Josue De Paula, starting at High-A Great Lakes and finishing with the Tulsa Drillers in Double-A. His stats were impressive: a .264/.377/.428 slash line with 13 homers and 75 RBIs. Even in just six games with the Drillers, Hope posted a robust .316/.350/.421 line.

Scouting Zyhir Hope

Looking ahead, MLB Pipeline projects Hope to be major league-ready by 2027, while FanGraphs suggests a 2028 arrival. His journey through Double-A and Triple-A will be crucial, and if he catches fire, he could accelerate his timeline.

Hope faces competition from De Paula, who’s also eyeing a promotion. According to Dodger Nation’s Doug McKain, Hope boasts "off-the-charts bat speed" and "thunderous raw power."

The key for Hope will be refining his swing decisions to unlock his full potential. Despite some concerns over strikeout rates, his athleticism and power make him a prospect to watch.
