Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker recently shared some joyful news: he and his wife, Samantha, have welcomed a baby boy. Tucker, who recently joined the Dodgers, took a personal leave to be with his family for this special moment.
Speaking with Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA, Tucker expressed his happiness about being present for the birth of his first child. “It’s awesome.
It was really fun and exciting to be there and to experience that with both our families and everyone there,” he shared. “We have a good support group back home, taking care of everyone.
It’s been a lot of fun. I was only home for a few days, but glad I got some time with them.”
With a family connection to baseball-Tucker’s brother, Preston Tucker, has played in the majors-there's already chatter about the newest Tucker potentially following in those footsteps. When asked about his son's future in baseball, Tucker joked, “A lot of potential, but we’ve got to see what we’ve got.
As long as he’s healthy and growing right now, that’s all I can ask for. We’ll get to the baseball in a few years.”
The Dodgers clubhouse is buzzing with baby news. Alongside Tucker, several teammates are also experiencing the joys of parenthood.
Max Muncy and Kike Hernandez recently welcomed children, while former Dodger Clayton Kershaw has also joined the ranks of new dads. First baseman Freddie Freeman and his wife are expecting their fourth child, and shortstop Mookie Betts is set to welcome a new addition soon.
In fact, Betts has announced he won't be playing for Team USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic due to the timing of his child's birth. “She (Brianna Betts) said she’d divorce me if I wasn’t there,” Betts humorously remarked.
The influx of new parents has created a lively and family-friendly atmosphere at the Dodgers' facilities, something Tucker and his teammates are enjoying. “We’ve got a lot of little ones running around the clubhouse and everyone right now.
It’s fun to see and share this experience with everyone, and have them come out to BP and the clubhouse and everything, it’s really cool to see all of that. It’s a lot of fun.”
Congratulations to the Tuckers and all the other Dodger families celebrating new arrivals!
