Dodgers James Tibbs III Erupts In Triple-A Debut

James Tibbs III made a powerful Triple-A debut for the Dodgers, showcasing impressive hitting skills and setting the stage for an exciting season.

James Tibbs III is making waves in Triple-A with a debut series that's nothing short of spectacular. The Oklahoma City Comets' rising star blasted two home runs and a double, racking up five RBIs in a commanding 13-4 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes.

Fresh off an impressive spring training with the Dodgers, Tibbs wasted no time showcasing his power. On Sunday, he launched a solo shot in the fourth inning and followed it up with a three-run homer in the fifth. Not stopping there, he doubled in the seventh, marking his second consecutive day with three extra-base hits.

In just three games at this level, the 23-year-old outfielder is turning heads with eight hits in 13 at-bats. His stats are eye-popping: a .615 batting average, .643 on-base percentage, and a slugging percentage of 1.462, along with eight RBIs and six runs scored.

Ryan Fitzgerald, another standout, kept the momentum going with a three-run double and a triple, following a six-RBI performance the day before. Catcher Zeby Savala joined the party with a two-run homer as part of his three-hit game.

However, the Comets were without outfielder Zach Ehrhard for the last two games. According to play-by-play announcer Alex Freedman, Ehrhard injured his thumb during a slide on Friday night.

In terms of roster updates, Yency Almonte and Ryan Sublette are on the 60-day injured list, rather than the initially reported seven-day IL. Almonte, who joined the Dodgers on a minor league deal in February, is recovering from shoulder surgery and spent last year rehabbing in the minors.

Looking ahead, the Dodgers' new Class-A affiliate, the Ontario Tower Buzzers, will kick off their season on Friday. While full rosters are still under wraps, keep an eye on shortstop Emil Morales, a top prospect poised to make his mark in Southern California.
