Dave Roberts Updates Dodgers Fans on Bullpen Trio's Recovery Progress

Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts offers crucial updates on the recovery progress of three key pitchers, shedding light on their return timelines.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are dealing with a trio of pitchers working their way back from injuries, and manager Dave Roberts recently provided updates on their progress. Brock Stewart, Brusdar Graterol, and Bobby Miller are all at different stages in their recovery, creating some uncertainty as the preseason unfolds.

Brock Stewart, acquired during the 2025 trade deadline, has had limited action with the Dodgers due to a right shoulder procedure that sidelined him at the end of last season. He only managed to appear in four games during the fall.

However, there's a glimmer of hope as Stewart is making strides in Spring Training. Roberts noted that Stewart's bullpen sessions have been promising, hinting that his return might not be too far off from opening day.

“Just fastballs only. I think his next pen, he’s going to introduce some breaking balls, but it was really good,” Roberts shared.

“Arm speed and hand speed were really good, better than I thought. So came in the following day, which was yesterday, and felt good.

No residual soreness.”

Turning to Brusdar Graterol, the Dodgers are proceeding with caution. Although he hasn’t taken the mound yet, Roberts emphasized that this isn’t a “setback.” Graterol missed all of 2025 due to a shoulder issue and is expected to remain on the injured list for a bit longer.

“I wouldn’t say progress. I wouldn’t say a setback.

I just think that, you know, right now from what I’ve heard, that we don’t feel in a position to kind of ramp him up,” Roberts explained. “So he’s just playing catch, and I don’t think we’re going to see him on the mound for a little bit longer again.”

As for Bobby Miller, he’s also dealing with shoulder and arm issues that have kept him from throwing off the mound in Spring Training. The Dodgers are hopeful to increase his activity in the coming weeks.

“There’s some arm, I think it’s a little shoulder soreness, kind of haven’t figured out when to kind of ramp him up,” Roberts said. “So I don’t know that answer right now, but I know that he’s kind of slow to participate.”

With these pitchers on the mend, the Dodgers are navigating a tricky preseason, balancing optimism with caution as they prepare for the upcoming season.
