The LA Clippers have been on a rollercoaster ride this season, transforming from a team that lost 21 of their first 28 games to one that's now a playoff contender. Nic Batum and company have flipped the script, going 32-15 in their last 47 outings.
The highlight? Kawhi Leonard's clutch game-winner against the Pacers, a shot he almost handed off to Darius Garland.
Reflecting on the journey, Batum shared on The Old Man and The Three podcast, “This has been the weirdest season I've been part of in my 18 years in the league. It's been long, with ups and downs, but it's been fun.”
The turning point came after the Clippers were knocked out of the NBA Cup in Las Vegas. With more time on their hands, the team capitalized on extended practice sessions-something rare during the hectic season.

“We had time to practice, two or three sessions of two hours each. It was like a complete reset, almost a new training camp,” Batum explained.
Head coach Tyronn Lue played a crucial role in this resurgence. Despite the rough start, Lue's calm demeanor never wavered.
“One thing I liked about this coach is he never panicked,” Batum noted. “We were in a very bad spot, but he was always calm, always poised.
Sometimes you just need one game to turn things around, and we had that game.”
That pivotal moment came with a win against the Lakers, setting the Clippers on their current path. With the playoffs in sight, this team has shown resilience and determination, proving they're a force to be reckoned with.
