Milwaukee Bucks Stun Fans With Major Roster Shake-Up Before Clippers Clash

The Milwaukee Bucks make a bold move by releasing veteran guard Cam Thomas and signing Peter Nance just before their clash with the Los Angeles Clippers.

In a surprising move, the Milwaukee Bucks shook up their roster just before facing off against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Bucks announced they were parting ways with veteran guard Cam Thomas, a decision that caught many by surprise given the timing.

Thomas, who joined the NBA in 2021 as the 27th overall pick by the Brooklyn Nets, has been a steady presence in the league. Over five seasons with the Nets, he played in 239 games, starting in 88 of them.

His scoring ability was evident, averaging 15.2 points per game with a shooting accuracy of 43.5% from the field and 34.3% from beyond the arc. Not just a scorer, Thomas also contributed 2.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

After the Nets couldn't find a trade partner for Thomas, he was waived post-trade deadline in February. The Bucks picked him up on February 8, hoping to bolster their bench.

In his stint with Milwaukee, Thomas appeared in 18 games, coming off the bench to provide valuable minutes. He averaged 10.7 points, maintaining a shooting percentage of 43.1%, along with 2.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 16.6 minutes per game.

Following Thomas' departure, the Bucks quickly moved to sign veteran Peter Nance to a multi-year standard contract. While the specifics of Nance’s deal remain under wraps, the Bucks are clearly looking to reshape their roster as they gear up for a deep playoff run.

This roster shuffle highlights the Bucks' strategic adjustments as they aim to strengthen their lineup for the challenges ahead. With the playoffs on the horizon, Milwaukee is making bold moves to ensure they have the right mix of talent and experience.
