Lakers Fans Have A New Reason To Revisit Yaxel Lendeborg

After a disheartening Lakers game, Yaxel Lendeborg found his stride, leading the Warriors with an explosive performance against the Clippers.

Yaxel Lendeborg wasted no time turning the page from a rough night into a statement performance.

With Stephen Curry sidelined, Lendeborg powered the Warriors past the Clippers 124-112 and put together the kind of scoring burst that can change the feel of a game fast. He poured in 37 points, added six assists and four rebounds, and did it efficiently, going 13-for-19 from the field and 6-for-11 from three.

Afterward, Lendeborg spoke to NBC Sports from the sideline and made it clear he was thinking about what happened against the Lakers. He said, “That was a huge letdown last game.

I just try not to be a letdown again, honestly. I know I’ve got to keep my confidence no matter what goes on, good or bad game,” Lendeborg said.

He also talked about the mindset he wants to carry with him moving forward. “And I just got to start playing with the joy that I played with the last six years of college, and now here.

So I’m just going to continue to try to keep playing with a smile on my face, maybe throw a little dance move like Steph every once in a while. But I’m gonna just keep trying to find my joy,” he added.

That response stood in sharp contrast to the Lakers game, when Lendeborg had been looking forward to the matchup against Luka Doncic and a chance to get revenge, but ended up with just six points and one rebound in 24 minutes. He shot 2-for-3 from the field and 1-for-2 from deep in that one, while Curry’s big night carried the Warriors.

This time, Lendeborg was the one driving the offense. Steve Kerr said the biggest thing that stood out was how much he’s already affecting games, even while still learning the league.

“The fact that he’s playing this way. And he doesn’t really know the NBA game yet,” Steve Kerr said at the postgame press conference on what impressed him the most about Yaxel Lendeborg.

Kerr said the pace is still a challenge for him, but the skill level is obvious.

“The game is still really fast for him, but he’s so skilled and talented that he’s making all kinds of plays out there. And so I think he’s going to get a lot better because he’s going to start recognizing patterns, double teams, and how to handle pick-and-rolls.”

He also pointed to the work Lendeborg still has ahead of him defensively.

“Defensively, he’s got a lot of work ahead of him, but it’s remarkable, the impact he’s making on these games in the first couple of weeks of the season,” Kerr added.

Kerr said the Warriors knew Lendeborg could shoot, but what he showed against the Clippers went beyond expectations.

“We knew he was a good shooter, and when he came in to work out, you could see the skill in terms of being able to put in on the floor and then pull up and shoot. I didn’t expect what I saw tonight,” Kerr added on whether he expected Yaxel Lendeborg to shoot off the dribble consistently.

The coach also said Lendeborg’s presence changes how the Warriors can attack.

“It changes everything. On a night like tonight, without Steph, we scored 124 points, and Yaxel is the main reason that we were high-powered.

You can play off of him, and I thought everybody did a really good job of spreading the floor and executing for the most part. A lot of guys took advantage of the space out there,” Steve Kerr concluded.

The Warriors now move on to face the Suns tomorrow night, November 2, with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green expected to be available. That means Lendeborg likely won’t have the same kind of usage he had against the Clippers, and the next question is whether he can keep producing at this level while sharing the floor with Curry.

Clippers Just Got A Harsh Look At Golden States New Threat

The Clippers got a fresh reminder that Golden State may have found another young scorer in Yaxel Lendeborg, who erupted for 37 points and looked comfortable doing it across 34 minutes. The rookie added 4 rebounds and 6 assists, giving the Warriors a lot more than just a hot hand and giving Los Angeles a long night trying to sort out his pace, shot-making and playmaking.

For a Golden State team always trying to balance present-day results with the next wave, Lendeborgs showing carried real weight beyond one box score. Steve Kerr came away encouraged by the early return, and the bigger concern for Clippers fans is that this may be only the beginning of a player who already looks capable of making life harder on opponents while he keeps learning. Clippers Get A Huge Opening Against A Shorthanded Warriors Team

The Clippers are set to catch a break against Golden State with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green expected to sit out, giving Los Angeles a much cleaner opening than it might have faced against a fully stocked Warriors group. Steve Kerr confirmed the decision came after discussion with the medical staff and the players, part of the teams broader approach to managing availability as the season moves along.

Kerr described the situation as a week-by-week process, which keeps the focus on long-term health rather than forcing either veteran into action for a single game. Curry also spoke recently about Jimmy Butlers recovery from an ACL injury and the way Golden State is trying to stay competitive through all the absences, but for the Clippers, the immediate takeaway is simple: a marquee matchup just got a little less daunting. Clippers Defensive Problems Exposed Again By Warriors Breakout Night

The Clippers ran into another rough defensive night as Golden State kept rolling with a balanced attack in a 124-112 win, extending its streak to four straight. The Warriors got major production from several places on the floor, with DeAnthony Melton, Brandin Podziemski, Charles Bassey, Brandon Williams and Al Horford all making meaningful contributions to a game that never really tilted back toward Los Angeles.

The biggest storyline, though, was the emergence of rookie Yaxel Lendeborg, who delivered a career-best scoring night and did it efficiently enough to keep the Clippers chasing all evening. For a Los Angeles team trying to stabilize its defense, the concern is not just that one opponent found a hot hand, but that Golden State kept finding answers every time the Clippers looked ready to close the gap.
