Chargers Superfan Merrianne Do Goes Viral Again-And This Time, a Former Player Is Backing Her Up
In a fan base often criticized for its lack of presence in the stands, Merrianne Do has become a rare constant for the Los Angeles Chargers. While opposing fans routinely take over SoFi Stadium, Do has emerged as a familiar face in the sea of powder blue-cheering, decked out in gear, and living every snap with the intensity of a sideline coach.
Her rise to viral fame began in 2023, when she was caught on camera passionately supporting the Chargers during a high-profile matchup against the Cowboys. That moment sparked a wave of speculation online, with some fans accusing her of being a “plant”-a paid actor meant to inject energy into a fanbase that’s often quiet at home games. But now, a former Chargers wide receiver is stepping in to defend her loyalty, and he’s got a story that’s hard to ignore.
Simi Fehoko, who suited up for the Chargers during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, took to X (formerly Twitter) with what he called a “crazy story” about Do. According to Fehoko, he and a group of teammates-including the entire offensive line, quarterbacks, and several wide receivers-were out at a very low-key restaurant during OTA weekend. The location was intentionally off the radar, far from the team’s Costa Mesa facilities, with reservations made under aliases to keep things discreet.
And then, out of nowhere, in walks Merrianne Do and her husband.
“As we’re eating, her and her husband come walking in and sit at the table reserved right next to us,” Fehoko wrote. “No way could they have known we were going to be there, just insane luck.”
Fehoko didn’t just share the story for entertainment-he used it to firmly dismiss the conspiracy theories. “They were decked out in Chargers gear,” he added. “So I hate to burst the conspiracy that she is an industry plant, however I can very much confirm, her and her husband are die hard Chargers fans.”
Do herself responded to the viral post, confirming the encounter and adding a bit more context. “Simi!!
The luck that night was INSANE 😂⚡️,” she wrote. “Our original reservation was actually for the week before, but we had a last minute change because our friends couldn’t get a babysitter.
So when the host whispered, ‘Merrianne, don’t freak out, Justin, the O-line, WRs, and Cameron are…’” - well, you can imagine the rest.
Whether you believe in coincidence or fate, one thing is clear: Merrianne Do isn’t going anywhere. She’s become a symbol of unwavering support for a franchise that, frankly, could use more of it. And right now, the Chargers are giving her something to cheer about.
As of Week 13, Los Angeles is sitting at 8-4 and currently holds a Wild Card spot in the AFC, fifth in the conference standings. It’s a solid position, but with Justin Herbert recovering from surgery, the road ahead is anything but smooth. According to NFL.com, their playoff odds sit around 61%-but that number jumps to over 75% if they can secure a win in their next game.
So yes, the Chargers still have work to do. But with fans like Merrianne Do in their corner-and now, former players backing her up-the team isn’t lacking in passion. And in a league where every edge matters, that kind of loyalty might just be the extra spark they need down the stretch.
