Micheletti wasn’t in MLB Pipeline’s top 30 Blue Jays prospects, but he’s put together a solid Double-A season with a 111 wRC+. Rivero fits the usual profile of a lower-level upside bet, and he has not advanced beyond the Rookie Complex League.
The move follows last week’s deal with the Texas Rangers, when the Angels sent Logan O’Hoppe and Chase Silseth away to mixed reviews. This one feels different.
