Titans Set to Hire Raiders Target Brian Daboll as OC

The Titans appear poised to land a high-profile offensive mind-if he doesnt land a top job elsewhere first.

The Tennessee Titans are closing in on a significant addition to their coaching staff - former Giants head coach Brian Daboll is expected to become their next offensive coordinator, barring a last-minute pivot by the Las Vegas Raiders.

Daboll, who just wrapped up a second interview with the Raiders for their head coaching vacancy, remains a candidate in Las Vegas. But if that door closes, the Titans are prepared to bring him aboard to run the offense under newly hired head coach Robert Saleh.

It’s a move that would reunite two experienced football minds, each looking to reset after tough stints in New York - Saleh with the Jets, Daboll with the Giants.

Daboll’s Road Back to OC

Daboll’s coaching journey has been anything but linear. After earning NFL Coach of the Year honors in 2022 for leading the Giants to a surprising playoff berth, the wheels came off quickly. New York stumbled to a 20-40-1 record over three seasons under his watch, and the Giants parted ways with him in November.

Now 50, Daboll is no stranger to the offensive coordinator role. He’s held that title with four different franchises - the Browns, Dolphins, Chiefs, and most recently, the Bills, where he helped develop Josh Allen into one of the league’s premier quarterbacks. That Buffalo stint (2018-2021) is what put him on the map as a top-tier offensive mind, and it’s likely what’s drawing interest from teams like the Titans and Eagles.

Speaking of Philadelphia, Daboll is also reportedly in the mix for the Eagles’ OC job. He’s got a connection there, too - back in 2017, he served as Jalen Hurts’ offensive coordinator and position coach during their time at Alabama. That history could carry weight in Philly’s decision-making process, but for now, Tennessee appears to be at the front of the line.

A Fresh Start in Nashville

If Daboll does land in Nashville, he’ll be tasked with reviving a Titans offense that’s been stuck in neutral. The unit struggled with consistency throughout the 2025 season, and with Saleh stepping in as head coach, bringing in an experienced, creative play-caller like Daboll makes a lot of sense.

For Saleh, this marks his second go-round as a head coach after a rocky tenure with the Jets. He went 20-36 across three-plus seasons in New York before being let go in 2024 following a 2-3 start. The Titans are betting that a change of scenery - and a more stable organizational structure - will help him find his footing.

Pairing Saleh’s defensive acumen with Daboll’s offensive creativity could be the formula Tennessee needs to turn the page. The Titans have talent on both sides of the ball but have lacked cohesion. Daboll’s arrival, assuming it happens, would be a major step toward building a more balanced, dynamic team.

Raiders Still in the Mix

Of course, this all hinges on what happens in Las Vegas. The Raiders are still weighing their options for head coach, and Daboll remains in the conversation. But he’s not the only name in play.

Denver Broncos passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb is also scheduled for a second interview with the Raiders. Webb, 31, has seen his stock rise thanks to Denver’s deep playoff run, though that success has made scheduling interviews a bit tricky.

Webb’s coaching career is still in its early stages - he joined the Broncos’ staff in 2023 after bouncing around the league as a backup quarterback. He made brief appearances with the Bills and Giants, including a start for New York in 2022, and played his college ball at Texas Tech and Cal before being drafted by the Giants in the third round in 2017.

Whether the Raiders go with a seasoned veteran like Daboll or take a swing on an up-and-comer like Webb, the decision will have ripple effects across the league - especially in Tennessee.

For now, the Titans are waiting in the wings, ready to hand the keys to their offense to a coach with a proven track record of building quarterbacks and designing explosive schemes. If Daboll ends up in Nashville, it could be exactly the spark this team needs.
