The Las Vegas Raiders are still trying to sort out their wide receiver group at training camp, and one team insider thinks the problem is too big to ignore.
Mitchell Renz took to X with a blunt assessment of the room, writing, "The Raiders WR room continues to struggle at training camp..."
He then laid out where things stand for the group: "Tre Tucker & Jalen Nailor have been what I've expected so far + Malik Benson has been a sleeper all offseason. Jack Bech hasn't flashed like a 2nd round pick & Dont'e Thornton Jr. is at risk of not making the team.
"Bottom line: This is one of the worst WR rooms in the NFL & I think the @Raiders should do something about it."
Benson has been the bright spot in the mix for Renz. The Raiders took the Oregon product in the sixth round, and he has already made noise in camp.
ESPN's Ryan McFadden added that Benson would currently rank as the team's third-best wide receiver. That puts him just ahead of 2025 picks Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton.
For now, Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor appear set to be the main options in the passing game for either Kirk Cousins or Fernando Mendoza in the upcoming season. The bigger issue is that the Raiders head into preseason without a Pro Bowl-caliber receiver on the roster.
The pressure is on as Tom Brady's Las Vegas team prepares for three preseason games against the Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers.
The Raiders are coming off the worst record in the 2025 NFL season, a finish that gave them the first pick in the 2026 draft. Brady and company used it on Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
Those preseason games should give the Raiders' 2026 draft picks plenty of run on the field. Brady and the front office will be watching closely before the regular-season opener against the Miami Dolphins.
