The Raiders’ interior offensive line remains unsettled, and Jackson Powers-Johnson has become the name hovering over the whole conversation.
From the outside, it sure looks like he has slipped behind Caleb Rogers on the depth chart, even though Rogers is not a starter himself. That’s a tough place for any player to sit, and former Raiders standout Lincoln Kennedy said last week that he believes Powers-Johnson may be ready for a fresh start somewhere else.
“Not being in front of JPJ, not seeing him every day of practice, not being at the facility, not talking to the other guys. I think JPJ wants out. I think he wants away from the Raiders,” Kennedy said on the Locked on Raiders podcast.
Kennedy said he was speculating, but he tied that feeling to what he sees as a player who may no longer feel valued.
“One of the hardest things to prove, because if a guy says, ‘I can’t do this, my back, my back.’ There’s no one test that you can sit there and say it works, or concussion protocol.
‘Man, my head, I’m just a little split.’ Because of all the things with the CTE evaluations and stuff like that to go out there, it’s hard to prove.”
“So I take these little tidbits as keys to the possibility that he wants out, because he’s no longer feeling that he’s respected, because he’s playing behind Caleb Rogers and not getting on the field. Now, I don’t know the ins and outs of why it happened.
I don’t know if the Raiders made a change because they just wanted more effective play out of their guards. I don’t know… But all I can say is that just based on the body language and what I feel and what I hear, I’m speculating.
I think he wants out…”
Those comments landed before Powers-Johnson was held out entirely Sunday against the Jets. Rogers, meanwhile, played five snaps in that game, which only sharpened the sense that JPJ has fallen as far down the Raiders’ guard pecking order as he can go.
Kennedy’s co-host, Q Myers, also weighed in last week and said he wouldn’t blame Powers-Johnson if he wanted out.
“I wouldn’t blame him if he does one out. Again, we don’t know if he does or not, but I wouldn’t blame him if he did want out,” Myers said.
“Tom Toelesco drafted him. There was Tom Telesco.
Now you get John Spytek in there now, and it’s been coaching staff after coaching staff, and he’s been on a yo-yo, and it’s never really in concrete who or what he is for this organization. So if I’m him and I’m coming in as a highly touted offensive lineman, if I’m a guy that was drafted in the second round, I mean, yes, not the first round, but I mean, I’m a high second round pick.
I’m thinking, ‘Man, can I get a little respect?’ Again, warranted or not, I just know my own personal feeling, how I would feel if I was in a situation like that.”
With the November 10 trade deadline only days away, Powers-Johnson is a name to watch. Any team that comes calling wouldn’t be getting him as a short-term rental. He still has another year left on his rookie contract after this season, which could make him more appealing to a club willing to take a chance.

Mark Davis Just Weighed In On The Raiders QB Tension
The Raiders quarterback picture has a little more clarity from the top, even if the timetable still feels fluid. In a CNBC interview, owner Mark Davis said he does not feel any pressure to rush rookie Fernando Mendoza onto the field this season, a notable stance for a team trying to balance development with stability at the games most important position.
Davis also framed Kirk Cousins as the kind of veteran presence that can help bridge the gap while Mendoza keeps learning the professional game. He said the rookie is progressing well, but there is no need to force the issue right away, which leaves the Raiders with a patient approach for now and a bigger question still hanging over when the next chapter actually begins. Raiders Face A Brutal Maxx Crosby Decision As Deadline Nears
With the November 10 trade deadline approaching, the Raiders are staring at one of the toughest roster calls they could face. Maxx Crosby is not asking out, and the expectation around the league is still that Las Vegas will keep its All-Pro edge rusher, but the phone lines figure to stay busy after a recent trade involving Jeffery Simmons helped push Crosbys market higher.
The challenge for the Raiders is obvious: Crosby remains central to what they do, especially with the current state of the defensive line, yet his value could be at its peak if the team ever decided to listen. Even with the possibility of significant offers coming in, Las Vegas would have to weigh the immediate hit to its defense against the kind of return it would demand to even consider moving one of the franchises most important players. For Raiders fans, the timing makes the reminder feel especially relevant, with the film set to arrive during the 2026 NFL season. Bale also pointed to Davis once a Raider, always a Raider mindset, along with his civil rights record and broader impact on the league, underscoring why Davis remains such a central part of the franchises identity.
