Raiders Star Maxx Crosby Linked to Shocking Trade Before NFL Draft

A cryptic comment from Jay Glazer has reignited questions about Maxx Crosbys future with the Raiders-but was it insight or just speculation?

Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors Swirl After Jay Glazer Comments: What We Know and What’s Next

Super Bowl week always brings its fair share of headlines, but few were as explosive as the one that dropped when NFL insider Jay Glazer suggested that Raiders star Maxx Crosby could be on the move before the NFL Draft. That’s not your everyday rumor-this one hit like a blindside sack.

Glazer appeared on a Yahoo Sports segment with host Jason Fitz and dropped the bombshell while discussing the Raiders’ decision to shut Crosby down late in the season. According to Glazer, the All-Pro edge rusher didn’t take the news lightly.

“When that happened,” Glazer said, referencing the team’s decision to end Crosby’s season early, “I remember Ian Rapoport saying the team told him, ‘We’re going to do right by him. We’re going to shut him down and really protect him from himself.’”

But Glazer says Crosby didn’t see it that way. In fact, he claims Crosby called him directly with a very different tone.

“Maxx is on the other line going, ‘Man, screw these guys. They’re shutting me down.

I am not about this. Hell, no.

I’m not doing it. I left the facility.

I’m out. I want to get traded.

I’m done,’” Glazer recalled. “I was kind of trying to talk Maxx off a ledge.”

That’s not the kind of thing you say about a guy unless you’re pretty confident in your relationship with him-and Glazer doubled down by saying he went straight to Raiders GM John Spytek with his concerns.

“There’s a couple guys, if they tell you they’re playing, they’re playing,” Glazer said. “It’s not open for discussion.

They need it. For a guy like Maxx, he’s an addict… he needs structure.

You can’t do that to him. So I said, ‘You can still go for the first pick, but it can’t involve him.’”

That last part is key. Glazer’s comments suggest that while the Raiders may be eyeing a rebuild-or at least a reset-Crosby isn’t a player you treat like a trade chip.

He’s the kind of guy who defines a locker room culture. So if he’s unhappy, that’s not just a personnel issue-it’s an identity crisis.

Up until now, there had only been murmurs about Crosby’s frustration. Nothing concrete.

But Glazer’s comments brought it all to the surface. And naturally, that led to some confusion.

The next day, Glazer tried to walk things back-at least a little. When asked by popular Raiders content creator Samoan Raider if he was joking about Crosby wanting out, Glazer gave a vague answer: “Maxx didn’t say it. I was saying it.”

That didn’t exactly clear things up.

Jason Fitz, who hosted the original interview, added more fuel to the fire during an appearance on Raider Nation Radio’s Unnecessary Roughness with Q Myers.

“I got the vibe from Jay that this is an ongoing thing,” Fitz said. “I don’t know why Jay picked us-maybe we were just the first ones in line. But it definitely felt like this was not something that has gone away.”

Fitz also acknowledged his own relationship with Crosby, saying, “Maxx is a buddy. I text Maxx and I haven’t heard back, so I genuinely don’t know. He might not respond to me on it.”

So where does that leave us?

Right now, we’ve got a few things we can say with confidence: Crosby wasn’t thrilled about being shut down. Glazer believes that frustration was real and significant. And while he may have added some of his own interpretation to the situation, it was enough to raise serious questions about Crosby’s future in Las Vegas.

If Crosby wants to clear the air, he’ll have every opportunity to do so. But until then, this story isn’t going anywhere. When one of the league’s most relentless pass rushers might be on the market, teams-and fans-pay attention.

Because if Maxx Crosby really is available? That changes everything.
