Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Charles Snowden just caught a significant break in his ongoing legal situation stemming from a 2024 arrest. The 27-year-old pass rusher, who was taken into custody after being found asleep and unresponsive in a running SUV, has reached a plea agreement that could keep a DUI conviction off his record-if he meets specific conditions.
The incident occurred near Rainbow Boulevard and Sunset Road in Las Vegas, where police discovered Snowden behind the wheel of a Jeep Grand Cherokee that had nearly rolled off a four-foot retaining wall. According to authorities, Snowden appeared disoriented and told officers he thought he was in Florida. Two blood samples taken at the scene reportedly showed alcohol concentrations more than twice Nevada’s legal limit.
On Tuesday, Snowden’s attorneys entered a no-contest plea to a misdemeanor DUI charge on his behalf. But here’s where the door opens for him: under the terms of the plea agreement, if Snowden fulfills all court-mandated requirements, the charge can be reduced to reckless driving-avoiding a DUI conviction altogether.
Those requirements include paying a $1,000 fine and completing both DUI education and coroner’s classes. It’s a structured path forward, but one that demands full compliance. Should he fall short, the original DUI charge will remain on his record.
This is Snowden’s first offense involving DUI-related charges, which under Nevada law is classified as a misdemeanor. The plea was entered on the same day his bench trial was scheduled to begin.
The case had largely stayed under the radar until recently, when bodycam footage from the arrest surfaced online, adding a visual layer to an already troubling scene. The footage reportedly shows the SUV precariously positioned near the edge of the retaining wall, reinforcing the seriousness of the situation officers encountered.
While this legal development doesn’t erase the incident, it does offer Snowden a second chance-provided he follows through. For the Raiders, it’s another reminder of how off-field issues can impact the roster, even in the offseason.
