Brian Daboll is still very much in the running for the Raiders' head coaching vacancy, and his candidacy just took another step forward.
According to reports, Daboll completed his second interview with Las Vegas on Tuesday, signaling that the franchise is giving serious consideration to the former Giants head coach. He’s not alone in the mix-Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Broncos quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator Davis Webb also had their second sit-downs with the Raiders on Monday.
What’s interesting here is that all three-Daboll, Brady, and Webb-have also been in the conversation for the Bills’ head coaching job. That’s a rare overlap and speaks to how highly regarded this trio is around the league, particularly among teams looking for offensive-minded leadership.
The Raiders haven’t limited their search to just these three, either. Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero has reportedly interviewed multiple times with the team, giving Las Vegas a diverse pool of finalists that includes both offensive and defensive minds.
As for Daboll, his head coaching résumé is a mixed bag. He was let go by the Giants during the 2025 season after compiling a 20-40-1 record.
That’s a tough stretch, no doubt, but his reputation as an offensive architect-particularly from his time with the Bills before taking the Giants job-still carries weight. If he doesn’t land a head coaching gig this cycle, he’s expected to be a strong candidate for offensive coordinator roles elsewhere.
But make no mistake: Daboll isn’t just a fallback option. The Raiders are clearly intrigued, and with a second interview now in the books, he’s firmly in the hunt.
