Raiders Linked to Rising Coordinator With Three Titles in Coaching Search

A rising offensive mind with a track record of adaptability and success may be poised to take over the Raiders' sideline.

The Las Vegas Raiders are going big in their head coaching search-and one of the most intriguing names in the mix is Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

So far, the Raiders have interviewed eight candidates, and Kubiak is firmly in that group. At just 38 years old, he’s seen as one of the more compelling offensive minds available, and his name is gaining serious traction as the franchise looks to reset and build around a new quarterback.

Kubiak’s resume is starting to take shape in a way that turns heads around the league. He’s held offensive coordinator roles with the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, and most recently, the Seahawks.

While his stops in Minnesota and New Orleans lasted just a year each, that had more to do with the timing-he joined both teams during the final seasons of Mike Zimmer and Dennis Allen, respectively. When those head coaches were let go, Kubiak moved on as well.

The instability wasn’t about performance-it was about circumstance.

But 2025 was a different story. In Seattle, Kubiak found his footing and then some.

He orchestrated one of the NFL’s top offenses, helping the Seahawks to a 14-3 record. Under his watch, Seattle ranked third in the league in points per game, eighth in both passing and total yards, and cracked the top 10 in rushing.

That kind of balance is rare-and it speaks volumes about Kubiak’s ability to adapt his system to his personnel.

And speaking of personnel, it’s worth noting that Kubiak achieved all this with Sam Darnold at quarterback. Darnold, in his first year with the Seahawks and learning a new offense, played some of the best football of his career.

That’s not a coincidence. Kubiak’s system is built to elevate quarterbacks, and he’s shown he can get results without needing a top-tier name under center.

That’s a big reason why he’s become one of the most sought-after candidates in this year’s coaching cycle. And for the Raiders, the timing could be perfect.

Las Vegas holds the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, which puts them in position to select a franchise quarterback-likely Fernando Mendoza, if he declares. Pairing a young signal-caller with a forward-thinking offensive coach like Kubiak could be the foundation of a long-term rebuild. Add in a healthy amount of cap space, and the Raiders have the flexibility to build quickly around that core.

There’s also buzz around the idea of Kubiak potentially teaming up with Brian Flores as his defensive coordinator-a pairing that mirrors the structure in Seattle, where Mike Macdonald oversees the team and defense while Kubiak runs the offense. That kind of setup has worked well for the Seahawks, and could be a model the Raiders look to replicate.

Bottom line: Kubiak checks a lot of boxes for what the Raiders need right now. He’s young, innovative, and proven he can lead an offense at a high level. With the right quarterback and some smart roster moves, this could be a hire that reshapes the future in Las Vegas.
