Raiders GM Breaks Silence On Maxx Crosby Situation

Despite a halted trade to the Ravens, Raiders GM John Spytek highlights his strong bond with Maxx Crosby, ensuring his commitment and recovery with the team.

Maxx Crosby's decision to stick with the Las Vegas Raiders, despite a scrapped trade with the Baltimore Ravens, seems to be rooted in strong relationships within the organization. General Manager John Spytek and new head coach Klint Kubiak have played pivotal roles in keeping Crosby in silver and black.

In a video shared on the Raiders’ YouTube channel, Spytek delved into his connection with Crosby. "My relationship with Maxx, since I’ve gotten here, has been great," Spytek shared, as reported by Bob Harkins of The Athletic.

"We’ve had numerous conversations throughout the season and the offseason. Sometimes things work out the way they’re supposed to."

Crosby's trade request stemmed from being sidelined by the Raiders due to a knee injury, which led to meniscus surgery. Concerns about a potential "degenerative issue" in his knee reportedly caused the Ravens to back out of a deal that would have sent two first-round picks to the Raiders for the 28-year-old pass rusher.

While teams like the Dallas Cowboys may still have an eye on Crosby, the Raiders aren't actively shopping him. It appears Crosby will remain with the team at least through the start of the 2026 season.

Spytek expressed optimism about Crosby's future with the Raiders, saying, "We welcome him like he never left, because he really never did. It’s exciting to see him work hard and attack the rehab. I know he’s going to be back, ready to rock in August and have a bunch of good years ahead of him still."

Meanwhile, other teams may shift their focus to Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns, who could be on the move after recent contract adjustments. However, the bond between Crosby and the Raiders seems to have solidified, ensuring his place in Las Vegas for the foreseeable future.
