The Los Angeles Rams have spent the first six weeks of the 2026-27 season in an awkward spot, sitting fourth in the NFC West after opening the year with bigger expectations than almost anyone in the league. The offense has been the main drag on the team, and Matthew Stafford’s numbers tell the story: 11 touchdown passes and six interceptions through six weeks.
That rough stretch has also put Stafford on the doorstep of an ugly NFL milestone. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio pointed out that another loss would push Stafford into a career tie with Vinny Testaverde for the most losses by a starting quarterback in league history, and two more would give him the record outright.
“Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford lost his fourth start of the season on Sunday. When he loses his fifth, he’ll reach a career milestone he’d prefer not to have,” Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio wrote, H/T PFT.
“Stafford has a career record of 122-122-1 as a starting quarterback. Those 122 losses are the second-most in NFL history, behind only Vinny Testaverde, who went 90-123-1. With another loss, Stafford will tie Testaverde for the most ever, and with two more losses, Stafford will have the record all to himself.”
It’s a stark reminder of how much of Stafford’s career was shaped by those early years with the Detroit Lions, even if his resume looks far better now after winning a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2022. Still, Los Angeles has more pressing problems than a history book footnote. Right now, the only thing that matters is getting wins in 2026, and the Rams haven’t been doing that.

Bills Fans Earned Praise In Vegas But Their Players Didnt
A sizable contingent of Buffalo fans turned Allegiant Stadium into one of the more lively visiting environments of the season in Week 6, and they drew praise from an unlikely source in Raider Nation Radio host JT the Brick. By all accounts, the Bills supporters showed up loudly and carried themselves well during the game, giving Las Vegas a reminder that a strong road crowd can be a positive part of the NFL atmosphere when it stays respectful.
The story was much less flattering on the field, where the Bills defense crossed a line twice over. C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected during the game and later hit with an additional one-game suspension, while Sam Franklin Jr. was also suspended for a separate spitting incident. For a Bills team trying to keep its footing in a competitive AFC race, the weekend ended with praise for its fans and discipline issues that threatened to overshadow the football. [Read more 🡒]
Raiders Trade Deadline Focus Comes Down To One Crucial Roster Decision
The trade deadline is giving the Raiders a chance to weigh a few different roster fixes, but the clearest pressure point remains up front. Las Vegas has been looking at ways to strengthen its offensive line, along with possible help in the defensive backfield and at wide receiver, and coach Klint Kubiak has pointed to the development and challenges along the line while also noting the need to keep the secondary moving in the right direction.
There is also some optimism at receiver after Jalen Nailor returned, but the bigger issue is finding the right balance between immediate help and long-term depth. Run blocking still needs work, and the Raiders know there are spots where an extra body could matter, especially if they decide the best move is to add competition before the deadline passes. Maxx Crosby Trade Talk Puts Raiders Fans In A Tough Spot
Maxx Crosbys name popping up in trade chatter is the kind of thing Raiders fans never want to hear, even when it comes from a speculative feature this close to the NFL deadline. A CBS Sports report put Crosby on a list of players the writer would like to see dealt, with the Raiders edge rusher mentioned as a fit for teams such as the Bears and Lions while Las Vegas continues to show signs of progress this season.
The wrinkle, of course, is that this is more idea than inevitability. Crosby remains one of the faces of the franchise, and the discussion only gets traction because there is always the possibility a star player would prefer a clearer path to a championship elsewhere. Even so, the report frames a move as doubtful, which leaves Raiders supporters stuck in an uncomfortable spot: encouraged by the teams better play, but forced to imagine what it would mean if their best defender ever decided he wanted out.
