The Raiders may finally be getting Jack Bech back at exactly the right time.
Las Vegas has not won since the wide receiver broke his arm in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints, and his minimum stint on injured reserve has now run out. Head coach Klint Kubiak has left the door open for Bech to suit up Sunday against the New York Jets.
Even if his workload is limited, his return would give the Raiders’ wideout room a needed lift. Cody White was forced into far too much action in the two games after Bech went down before his role was scaled back in the last two. That alone makes Bech’s potential comeback worth watching.
Through two full games before the injury, Bech’s numbers were modest - five catches for 48 yards - but he did find the end zone. His value goes beyond the box score, though. He’s also a dependable run blocker, something this offense can use more of.
Kubiak has been upbeat about Bech’s status leading into Sunday, and on Wednesday he laid out what the second-year receiver brings to the group.
"I would start with the energy he brings to our team, his love of the game, his work habits," Kubiak said. "He just has a whole other aura about him when he’s on the field, and his teammates feel it.
Coaches feel it. He’s a really solid run blocker; he’s got strong hands.
Really happy to have him back out there.”
Kubiak was also asked about Bech’s blocking ability, and whether he might be the best in that department among Raiders receivers. He pointed to Bech’s value there, while also crediting wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni for the group’s overall work in the run game.
"I think that’s a great point. I think he has a lot of value [as a blocker], but I would also say the receivers who have been blocking before have been doing a really good job. Coach (Zach) Azzanni is as good as it gets with every detail of the game, especially the run game, and his guys are extremely well-prepared.”
Kirk Cousins, who has already been complimentary of Bech before, sounded pleased to have him around again too.
"Jack has quickly come back. He keeps a positive attitude.
It’s good to have him back out there today. You have to keep going in this league no matter what happens around you, but it’s always fun to get guys back who you’re like, Oh yeah, that was great to have them (speaking of Bech and Dont'e Thornton) in there after they haven’t been around for a few weeks.
I love getting guys back like that.”
With Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor now established as the Raiders’ top two receivers, Bech’s return would add some much-needed variety. Those two bring a similar skill set, so another type of target would help balance things out.
Bech is built more like a tight end than a typical wide receiver, and that brings a different feel to the offense. He still has not been officially activated as of this writing, but whether it happens this week or later, the Raiders should be glad to get him back in the mix.

Raiders Fans Have A New Trade Deadline Concern With JPJ
With the November 10 trade deadline creeping closer, the Raiders suddenly have more than one name floating around in the rumor mill. Jackson Powers-Johnson has become part of that conversation after landing on the injury report with a back issue, adding another layer to a week already filled with speculation about which veterans and young pieces could be in play if Las Vegas decides to listen.
The chatter has not been limited to one player, either, with Isaiah Pola-Mao, Maxx Crosby and Kirk Cousins also mentioned as possible trade candidates depending on how the season and the coaching situation unfold. For Raiders fans, the concern is less about a single rumor than the larger question of whether the front office views this roster as one worth holding together, or one that could be reshaped before the deadline arrives. Raiders Depth Chart Reveals Where This Skid Is Really Hurting
The Raiders are keeping their Week 8 depth chart largely intact even as a four-game losing streak has put a spotlight on where the roster is feeling the strain. The lack of movement suggests the staff still believes the answers are in-house, even if the on-field results have made it clear the team needs cleaner play and more consistency on both sides of the ball.
Offensive coordinator Andrew Janocko said the staff adjusts practice routines every week to help the team improve, and this one has clearly been aimed at tightening up the details. With the offense still searching for more production and the defense looking for steadier execution, the next stretch will show whether those weekly tweaks can start to matter in a meaningful way. Raiders Suddenly Have A Maxx Crosby Deadline Question Fans Can't Ignore
Trade deadline chatter has put Maxx Crosby back in the middle of the leagues rumor mill, and this time the Minnesota Vikings are the team drawing attention. The talk around Minnesota has not been limited to one name, either, with reports tying the Vikings to Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins as well as Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, which only adds to the sense that the next few days could get busy fast.
For Las Vegas, the Crosby angle is the one that matters most because it would involve one of the franchises most important players and a move that would reshape the defense in a hurry. Nothing has been confirmed, and these discussions are still speculative, but the fact that Crosby is even part of the deadline conversation is enough to make Raiders fans pay close attention to how this market develops.
