Maxx Crosby To Bucs Gets Eye-Opening Update

Could the Buccaneers be poised to make a major move for star pass rusher Maxx Crosby after a trade with the Ravens fell through?

The NFL landscape experienced a shakeup when the Ravens unexpectedly backed out of a deal with the Raiders for pass rusher Maxx Crosby. Baltimore's change of heart led them to pursue Trey Hendrickson instead, leaving Crosby in Las Vegas, at least for now.

But how does this connect to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? According to insider Dianna Russini, the Bucs were among the teams eyeing Crosby before the Raiders and Ravens' agreement fell through.

Russini, speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, revealed that the Buccaneers were in the mix for Crosby, along with teams like the Bears, Cowboys, and Patriots. She noted that these teams were thorough, even consulting with Crosby's doctors and the Raiders' medical staff to assess his condition.

This interest from Tampa Bay isn't surprising given their pressing need to bolster their pass rush. Reports earlier indicated that the Bucs were also interested in Trey Hendrickson, who eventually inked a four-year, $112 million deal with the Ravens. Tampa Bay had hoped for a shorter-term contract.

With Crosby remaining with the Raiders, the possibility of a trade still lingers. However, the deal Baltimore initially offered might not be on the table anymore, which could lead the Raiders to retain him. Nevertheless, the Buccaneers might still consider making a move for Crosby.

Crosby, who tallied 10 sacks in 15 games last season, could significantly enhance Tampa's pass rush. Yet, if the price tag involves two first-round picks, it's unlikely that General Manager Jason Licht will pursue it.

As the Crosby situation evolves, it's promising to see the Buccaneers actively exploring opportunities with top-tier players. The coming weeks will reveal whether Tampa decides to make a bold play for Crosby or shifts focus elsewhere.
