Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis recently opened up about the dramatic trade saga involving Maxx Crosby and the Baltimore Ravens. Last month, the Raiders were on the verge of a blockbuster deal that would have sent Crosby to the Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks.
However, the trade fell apart when Crosby didn't pass his physical with Baltimore. While Crosby was reportedly excited about the potential move, he expressed contentment about staying with the Raiders after the deal collapsed.
As of now, there are no signs that Las Vegas is looking to move their star defender.
During the Annual League Meetings in Phoenix, Davis spoke with Paul Gutierrez of Raiders.com about the possibility of trading Crosby in the future. Davis expressed his enthusiasm for Crosby remaining with the team, stating, “I never wanted Maxx to leave, so I’m glad that he’s back and I’m glad that we got Tyler Linderbaum.
So I think we got out of that pretty well.” It seems that unless an irresistible offer comes along, Crosby will continue to be a key piece for the Raiders as the season approaches.
The Raiders have been active in reshaping their roster. Last offseason, they brought in Super Bowl-winning head coach Pete Carroll, traded for Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith, and selected promising running back Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 pick.
Despite these moves, they struggled, finishing with a 3-14 record. However, with Klint Kubiak now orchestrating the offense and the anticipated addition of Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 pick, there’s optimism in the air.
While a playoff spot might be out of reach in 2026, the Raiders are expected to deliver a much more entertaining performance than last year. After all, there's nowhere to go but up from their 2025 showing.
