Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak kept his halftime remarks tight again Sunday, and it didn’t sit well with everyone watching.
Kubiak, 39, is in his first season running the Raiders and has the team off to a 3-2 start entering Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills. Las Vegas also showed up in a big way in the first half, going into the break tied with Buffalo, 13-13.
But when CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson tried to get a little more out of him, Kubiak didn’t offer much. His answers were short, and longtime sports media insider Michael McCarthy took issue with the exchange, accusing the Raiders coach of “disrespecting” the veteran reporter.
“Hey Klint Kubiak, why don’t you try looking at legendary CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson when she’s asking you a question before halftime?” he shared on X.
“Try treating people with some respect there coach. You’re not all that.”
Raiders fans, on the other hand, seemed perfectly fine with the brevity. “I love how short Klint Kubiak is in his interviews.
No room for any confusion or alternative spin,” one fan wrote on X. “Good for him.
Just keep it simple,” one fan added.
This isn’t the first time Kubiak has drawn attention for the way he handles those sideline chats. Earlier this season, he went viral after guaranteeing the Raiders would beat the Chiefs during a halftime interview.
“Gotta be better, but you know what? We’re winning. We’re gonna win the game,” the first-time NFL head coach told Wolfson at halftime in Week 4.
The Chiefs came back to win that game, and Brittany Mahomes later mocked the Raiders coach on social media. Sunday’s interview, though, gave Kubiak another round of scrutiny, even if some fans clearly enjoyed the straight-to-the-point approach.

Raiders Suddenly Look Trapped In The Same Old Spiral
A month ago, the Raiders looked like they had finally shaken off the kind of sluggish start that has haunted this franchise before. Now the mood around Allegiant Stadium has flipped fast, after a home loss to Buffalo pushed Las Vegas into a three-game skid and reopened all the familiar questions about discipline, execution and whether the early surge was ever sustainable.
Klint Kubiak did not hide his frustration afterward, pointing to a team that keeps making life harder on itself with penalties, missed tackles and turnovers. The most troubling part, from the Raiders perspective, is how often the game has slipped away in the same places, with slow third-quarter starts and missed chances to close things out turning a promising opening into another uneasy ending. Raiders Fans Are Split On How Long To Stick With Cousins
The debate around Kirk Cousins has become one of the more telling sideshows of the Raiders uneven start, with an ongoing RaiderRamble.com poll showing a clear majority of fans placing the bigger blame elsewhere. With the team sitting at 3-3, many voters see defensive lapses and offensive line problems as the more pressing issues, which has made Cousins less of a lightning rod than he might be elsewhere and kept the discussion focused on how much of the early inconsistency is really on the quarterback.
Fernando Mendozas presence only adds another layer to the conversation, because the Raiders are trying to balance a veteran bridge option with the longer view of developing a rookie. Some fans are already mapping out when they would like to see Mendoza get a look later in the season, which tells you how quickly the conversation can shift if the offense stalls again. For now, though, the split is less about one player being the answer and more about how long the Raiders should keep waiting before making a bigger move. [Read more 🡒]
Raiders Showed Fight But One Big Decision Still Looms
The Raiders were beaten 33-30 by the Bills, but the showing looked a lot more like a team trying to fight its way back into form than the group that had just been overrun by the Patriots. Maxx Crosby again set the tone on defense, and the overall effort gave Las Vegas something it had been missing, even as the offense continued to leave points on the field and the run game from Ashton Jeanty still struggled to generate much traction.
The bigger question now sits under center, where Kirk Cousins remains part of the discussion while the team weighs its next move. The offensive guard spot is still unsettled, too, which only adds to the pressure on an offense already trying to get more from its talent, and the Raiders may not be able to keep kicking that quarterback decision down the road much longer.
