Kirk Cousins Just Framed Brock Bowers As A Different Kind Of Weapon

With key figures addressing challenges and fostering improvement, the AFC landscape sees coaches and players committed to overcoming adversity and enhancing team dynamics.

Jim Harbaugh isn’t backing away from the mess in Los Angeles. With the Chargers still winless, the head coach said the plan is simple: dig into the film, own the problems, and keep grinding until it turns.

“ First of all, it’s a team effort, and we’re going to look at the film,” Harbaugh said, via PFT. “ We’re going to address our issues, where we can get better, and just keep working.

That’s highly motivated and dedicated to getting this right. We’re the only ones that have the opportunity to change it, to fix it.

And that’s what we’re going to do, go back to work. I have not been in this position that many times either, here as a coach.

But I know we have to be dedicated ourselves to getting this turned. That’s where we’re at.”

In Kansas City, Andy Reid kept his comments on G Kingsley Suamataia tight and personal. “It’s just between Kingsley and I.” (Chiefs Wire)

Travis Kelce, meanwhile, made clear he’s still in Suamataia’s corner. “He’s family.

Everybody has their own road. We love Kingsley; we think he’s a hell of a player.

At this time, I’m not even sure what the scenario is. I’m rolling with whoever we’ve got in that game.

I’m sure Kingsley is drooling, trying to get back out there.”

And in Las Vegas, Kirk Cousins is seeing something special in Brock Bowers. The Raiders quarterback said the tight end keeps getting open, and it’s forcing him to adjust the way he sees the field.

“ I think what’s hard is when you play with Pierre Garçon, DeSean Jackson, or Justin Jefferson, you’re used to throwing to guys who are really open, ” Cousins said, via PFT. “ There were times, even when they would get doubled and I would progress off of them, and [Vikings head coach] Kevin O’Connell would say to me, ‘Still throw it to Justin when he’s covered.’

I was like, ‘I don’t like throwing to covered guys. I like throwing to open guys.’

The coaching point with Brock has been like it was with Justin, where it’s like, when he’s covered, you still need to throw it. That kind of breaks my instincts.

My instincts are to progress and throw to open guys. I think you can see there are moments this year where I can be better, and then there are moments where I’m starting to figure that out.

He’s made me right, if you will.”

Raiders Still Have One Problem That Could Ruin Their AFC West Push

The Raiders finally got a much-needed break with a close win over the Jets after snapping their losing streak, but the bigger AFC West picture still looks messy. Around the division, the Chargers have been uneven, the Broncos have had their own issues, and the Chiefs remain the standard, which means Las Vegas cannot afford to waste any momentum if it wants to stay in the race.

Even with that win, the defense remains the concern hanging over everything. The Raiders have been giving up points at an alarming rate, and until that side of the ball shows it can hold up for four quarters, every promising stretch on offense comes with a warning label. In a division where small margins matter, that kind of leak can undo a lot of progress fast. [Read more 🡒]

Maxx Crosby Just Sent Raiders Fans A Strong Message

Maxx Crosbys name surfaced in one of the more eye-catching trade conversations around the league, but the edge rusher didnt sound like a player looking for an exit. The Ravens interest alone said plenty about Crosbys value, and it also underscored how central he remains to the Raiders defense as he continues to log heavy snaps and produce at a high level this season.

For Raiders fans, the more important part is where Crosby seems to stand now. He has made clear hes committed to Las Vegas and believes in where the team is headed, which matters for a franchise trying to build around a core piece who still looks like one of its most important players. Even with outside noise swirling, Crosbys message pointed back to the Raiders and to the possibility of what comes next. [Read more 🡒]

Raiders Midseason Free Agency Decisions Are Starting To Get Uncomfortable

The Raiders are already staring at some uncomfortable roster math as they look ahead to the 2026 season, with a handful of players entering contract years and forcing early decisions about who fits the long-term plan. The evaluation breaks the group into familiar buckets for a team trying to sort out its future: players worth extending, veterans who might need a reduced price to stay, and others whose best path may be out the door if the season keeps trending the way it has.

Tre Tucker and Matt Gay stand out as the clearest names in the keep-and-invest category, while the other end of the list is where the tension really starts to build. Some players are being viewed as stopgaps or as pieces the Raiders can move on from if the right young talent is ready to take over, which is exactly the kind of midseason roster conversation that can get awkward fast when a front office is trying to balance present needs against future flexibility.
