Broncos J.K. Dobbins Resigns And Teases Loaded New Offense

Can the renewed ambitions of J.K. Dobbins spark a promising season for the Broncos amidst a shifting landscape in the AFC?

Broncos

J.K. Dobbins is sticking with the Broncos, and he's all fired up about it.

With new faces like Jaylen Waddle joining the squad, Dobbins believes the team is loaded with talent. “Pick your poison,” he quipped, highlighting the likes of Courtland Sutton and the young Pat Bryant, along with a solid offensive line.

Dobbins is coming off an injury that sidelined him for the last seven games, but he's eager to prove himself. “I’m fresh, and I’m gonna be pissed off,” he said, determined to make a big impact this season.

Reflecting on his resilience, Dobbins draws inspiration from his college days at Ohio State, where he ranked second in rushing yards, just behind Archie Griffin. “I’m gonna always keep going,” he emphasized, viewing injuries as opportunities for growth. He felt ready to play in the AFC Championship Game last season, praising the Broncos' organization for prioritizing his health.

Chargers

The Chargers have some intriguing decisions ahead after free agency, and Kris Rhim of ESPN dives into the details. One big question is what they'll do with WR Quentin Johnston. With the additions of Tre’ Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith in 2025, and Johnston’s fifth-year option looming, a trade could be on the table.

The offensive line is another area of interest. Despite not spending heavily here, the team seems committed to shaping an offense around OC Mike McDaniel’s zone-running scheme, featuring players like Tyler Biadasz, Cole Strange, Trevor Penning, and Trey Pipkins III.

Head Coach Jim Harbaugh and GM Joe Hortiz are under the microscope, too. If the Chargers can't secure a playoff win, changes might be considered, especially with QB Justin Herbert needing better protection.

Raiders

Egon Durban, a minority owner, is emerging as a key figure in the Raiders' future, potentially succeeding owner Mark Davis. His influence was evident when Tom Brady, another minority owner, pitched to Ben Johnson about the evolving culture in Las Vegas before Johnson joined the Bears.

Maxx Crosby's situation is also worth watching. Despite trade rumors, it seems Crosby will remain with the Raiders, at least for now.

GM John Spytek and HC Klint Kubiak reached out to Crosby after a trade to Baltimore fell through, reaffirming their support. Crosby appreciated the gesture, and while a trade could still happen closer to the deadline, his value took a hit when the Ravens backed out.

If the Raiders struggle by late October, revisiting trade talks for Crosby might be on the agenda, especially if he's performing well.
