Kentuckys Spotlight Stretch Just Added More Stakes For Florida

Kentucky Wildcats fans are eagerly anticipating the primetime showdown against Florida on ESPN, as both the networks and fans brace for a high-stakes matchup set for November 14th.

Kentucky’s Nov. 14 matchup with Florida is officially headed to ESPN’s primetime window, but the exact kickoff time is still being held back.

The SEC announced game times for Nov. 14 on Saturday, and No. 8 Kentucky vs.

No. 25 Florida landed on ESPN in the 6-7 p.m.

ET range. The league is waiting on the results from this weekend before locking in the final start time.

That gives Kentucky a little more time before its next big spotlight game, but not much. The Wildcats are headed to Knoxville this weekend for a primetime ESPN showdown with No. 16 Tennessee, while Florida hosts Oklahoma.

The Gators have been sliding after a 4-0 start. They’ve dropped three of their last four - to Missouri, South Carolina and Georgia - and Saturday’s 27-8 loss to Georgia was especially messy.

Florida turned it over four times. Aaron Philo was back in the starting lineup after missing the Texas game with a shoulder injury, but he was benched after throwing two interceptions.

Tramell Jones Jr. came in next, then coughed up a fumble that Georgia’s Chris Cole scooped and returned for a touchdown.

Kentucky, meanwhile, keeps stacking wins. The Wildcats are 7-1 and coming off a bye, and if they get past Tennessee, there’s a real chance College Gameday shows up in Lexington for the Florida game.

The last time ESPN’s signature pregame show came to town was 2007, when No. 7 Kentucky hosted No.

15 Florida. Tim Tebow’s team beat Andre Woodson’s that day.

This time, Kentucky is in the College Football Playoff race under Will Stein, and the setup gets even better because Sumrall - a former Wildcat who was once the favorite to replace Mark Stoops - will be on the other sideline. The game is already sold out.

For now, Kentucky fans can circle another night game on the calendar. The Florida matchup will be the Wildcats’ fifth straight night kickoff, with that stretch continuing through the Nov. 21 trip to Missouri before the season finale against Louisville on Nov. 28 is set for an early start.

Kentucky Faces A Huge Tennessee Chance With The Vols Still Unsettled

Kentuckys next trip back onto the field comes with plenty more than bragging rights attached. When the Wildcats head to Tennessee on Nov. 7, theyll do so with both teams sitting in the thick of the SEC race, Kentucky tied for first and the Vols trying to stay close enough to keep their own championship hopes alive.

The stakes stretch well beyond one November afternoon, with the outcome carrying real weight for the league title picture and the College Football Playoff conversation. Tennessee still has one major question hanging over the matchup, too, as the Vols continue sorting through two candidates at quarterback and the uncertainty adds another layer to an already pivotal game. Kentucky Gets An Early Chance To Silence Doubts At Tennessee

Kentucky heads into Week 10 with a chance to answer plenty of questions in one of the SECs oldest rivalries. The Wildcats are 7-1 overall and 5-1 in league play, but the early betting line still has Tennessee as a 6.5-point favorite, a reminder that respect around this team has not quite caught up with the record.

Tennessee brings a 6-2 mark and a 3-2 SEC record into a matchup that has long tilted in the Volunteers favor. The series dates to 1893, Tennessee has won the last five meetings, and Kentucky now gets an early chance to change the tone of the rivalry while giving doubters something harder to dismiss. Kentucky Closing In On One Big Man As Another Slips Away

Kentuckys frontcourt recruiting picture is starting to come into focus, and it looks like the Wildcats are in strong position with one of the most intriguing big men in the class. Seven-foot-five center Cherif Millogo has taken recent visits to USC and BYU, but recruiting analyst Joe Tipton says he remains committed to Kentucky, a good sign for a program that has made size a priority as it builds out its next wave of talent.

The flip side is that another name once tied closely to Kentucky now appears headed elsewhere. Four-star power forward Paul Osaruyi is expected to choose Mississippi State, narrowing the Wildcats options as they sort through a class that is likely to be small because of the players already set to return. For now, Kentucky still looks likely to add Millogo and Ryan Hampton in 2027, but the rest of the board seems to be shifting quickly. [Read more 🡒]
