Kentucky Stuns Ole Miss and Climbs Back in ESPN Bracketology Rankings

Kentucky strengthens its NCAA Tournament outlook with a commanding win over Ole Miss, inching closer to hosting duties.

Not too long ago, Kentucky's chances of hosting the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament seemed slim, especially with Teonni Key sidelined. But after a commanding victory over Ole Miss, the Wildcats are back in the mix, as highlighted in ESPN's latest Bracketology update.

Currently projected as a 4-seed, Kentucky is slated to face 13-seed Louisiana Tech in the opening round. If they advance, they would meet the winner of the 5-seed Minnesota vs. 12-seed Virginia/Arizona State matchup.

Joining Kentucky as 4-seeds are Ole Miss, Michigan State, and Ohio State. Kentucky's recent 74-57 triumph over Ole Miss was a significant boost.

The SEC is well-represented with 11 teams in the tournament, tying with the Big Ten for the most from any conference. Mississippi State is precariously positioned among the “last four byes.”

The win against Ole Miss was crucial for Kentucky's resume. Victories over Auburn and a successful SEC Tournament run could solidify their hosting status.

Snagging a win against No. 5 Vanderbilt or No.

3 South Carolina would further enhance their standing.

If Kentucky maintains its momentum, Big Blue Nation could witness an exciting tournament run. The Wildcats face Vanderbilt at 4 p.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN, ESPN2, or SEC Network.
