Kentucky is gearing up to host some promising talent as they schedule official visits with a couple of standout edge rushers. Indianapolis Franklin Central's Jayce Brewer and Farmington's Myles Smith are set to visit, each bringing their own unique strengths to the table.
Standing tall at 6-foot-5 and weighing 240 pounds, Brewer is rated .9116 by the 247Sports Composite. This places him as the nation's No. 24 edge rusher and the No. 269 prospect overall. He already got a taste of Kentucky with an unofficial visit back in January, and now he's coming back for more.
Smith, also 6-foot-5 but at 215 pounds, holds a .9253 rating, making him the No. 21 edge rusher and the No. 205 prospect nationally. He's got a visit lined up with Michigan State on May 29, but Kentucky is certainly hoping to make a strong impression.
Both Brewer and Smith will be recruited by Kentucky's edge rushers coach, Tony Washington Jr., who's known for his keen eye for defensive talent.
But it's not just these two making their way to Kentucky. The program is also rolling out the welcome mat for a host of other promising prospects. Offensive tackle Li'Marcus Jones from Jackson, safety Tristin Hughes from Rocky River, linebacker Braden Gordon from Montgomery, running back Asa Barnes from Martin, offensive tackle Terrance Warren III from Columbus, and running back Mason Ball from Jacksonville are all set to visit on June 5.
Kentucky is clearly putting in the work to bolster their roster with top-tier talent, and these visits could be pivotal in shaping the future of their program.
