Kentucky has trimmed two five-star names off its 2027 board, stepping away from AJ Williams and Adan Diggs, sources tell KSR.
Williams, ranked No. 5 in the country, had been set for an official visit to Lexington this weekend. That trip is now off, and Kentucky will no longer chase the wing, who has been heavily linked to BYU as the early signing period approaches.
Diggs is out of the picture as well. The No. 6 overall recruit, who is scheduled to announce his college choice on November 16, had Kentucky among his four finalists.
Instead, the Wildcats have officially moved on, leaving Arizona, Arkansas and USC as his remaining options. Tommy Lloyd’s Wildcats are viewed as the clear favorite to land him.
With those two recruits no longer in play, Kentucky is comfortable locking in on its current commitments, Cherif Millogo and Ryan Hampton. Millogo is ranked No. 11, while Hampton sits at No. 27, and both are expected to sign during the early signing period, which runs from Nov. 11-18.
The focus now shifts to the next wave. Kentucky remains in the mix for CJ Rosser, the No. 2 recruit in the 2027 class, who has said he plans to decide in January or February. The Wildcats are also after Benji Berrouet, a 2028 top-10 prospect and possible reclassification candidate who is not expected to make a decision until at least the spring.
Another name tied to Kentucky is Yann Kamagate, the No. 2 overall player in 2028 and another rumored reclass possibility. Kamagate lives with Millogo and shares a guardian and agent, Luc Mbah a Moute, as a high school teammate at St. Francis.
For now, Williams and Diggs are off the board, and Kentucky’s recruiting picture is a little cleaner heading into a signing period that should bring in two blue-chip additions.

Zoom Diallo Just Gave Kentucky Fans A Reason To Believe
Zoom Diallos first few weeks in Kentucky uniform came with the usual noise that follows a high-profile transfer, especially after a couple of preseason exhibition outings that drew early criticism. But in the season opener against Manhattan, the Washington transfer gave fans something sturdier to hang onto, finishing with 12 points while also contributing in other ways that fit the role Mark Pope has been asking him to grow into.
Pope has been clear that Diallo is still working through the learning curve in Kentuckys offense, and the guards night was another reminder that development here is going to come with both good stretches and rough ones. Still, the reaction around him shifted quickly once the game started to settle in, and Diallo said he appreciated the support while staying focused on improving, which is exactly the kind of response Kentucky wants to see as the season moves forward. Kentucky Gets A Huge Opening In Its Biggest Tennessee Game Yet
Kentucky is walking into one of its biggest Tennessee games in recent memory with both teams carrying real early-season momentum. The Volunteers have leaned on a punishing rushing attack and a defense that has been tough to crack, which makes this a demanding test for a Wildcats offense that will have to find answers against one of the nations best pass defenses.
The opening Kentucky has been handed comes from the uncertainty under center for Tennessee, where the starting quarterback situation is still clouded by injury. Faizon Brandon and George MacIntyre have both seen the field this season, and the Wildcats will be watching closely to see which direction the Volunteers go when the stakes rise. For Kentucky, the path to turning a big-stage matchup into something more manageable may depend on whether that uncertainty lingers. [Read more 🡒]
Kentuckys 2027 Recruiting Shift Just Raised A Bigger Mark Pope Question
Kentuckys 2027 recruiting board has already started to look different, and the latest move says plenty about how Mark Pope and his staff are approaching the class. The Wildcats have canceled a planned visit for AJ Williams and officially backed away from both Williams and Adan Diggs, even as they continue to hold commitments from Cherif Millogo and Ryan Hampton. Instead of treating the class like a numbers race, Kentucky is keeping its attention on other targets such as CJ Rosser, Yann Kamagate and Benji Bourret.
The shift also hints at a larger roster question hanging over next season. If several current players decide to return, Kentucky may not need to fill out a huge 2027 group, which changes the urgency and the kind of prospects the staff can chase. For a program that always has to balance immediate roster needs with long-term talent acquisition, the real story may be less about who is being dropped now and more about how Pope wants the roster to look when the dust settles.
