Kentucky’s 2027 recruiting board keeps growing, and one of the loudest names on it right now is 7-foot-5 center Cherif Millogo.
According to On3’s Joe Tipton, the Wildcats are among the top contenders for Millogo, joining BYU, Texas and Creighton near the front of the race. Kentucky offered him in May after seeing him at Adidas 3SSB, and that early push appears to have stuck. The group of schools that have already offered him also includes Alabama, Arizona, Vandy, Georgia, USC, Syracuse and TCU.
Millogo publicly acknowledged the Kentucky offer, writing, “Im blessed to receive an offer from University of Kentucky thank you to Coach Pope and all the Staff for this opportunity .”
His recruitment sits in the middle of a larger Kentucky search for frontcourt talent in 2027. The Wildcats recently brought in top 10 overall big man Lewis Uvwo for a visit, and he was scheduled to check out Providence a week later.
That outcome could matter here, especially with Millogo not having any visits set at the moment. Uvwo may end up making his decision before the 7-foot-5 prospect does.
Kentucky’s other major big-man targets in the class include Darius Wabbington and Paul Osaruyi, who is set to be in Lexington for a visit this weekend.
Millogo also shares the floor with one of the most highly regarded prospects in high school basketball, regardless of class, in Yann Kamagate. The two are considered one of the top big-man pairings in the country, and Kentucky has already made the trip to see them play at their high school.
What stands out most here is how seriously Kentucky is treating Millogo. He is new to basketball and has only been playing for a few years, a path similar to Uvwo’s, and the Wildcats have clearly taken notice. For now, Kentucky sits in a strong position with one of the class’s most intriguing long-term bigs, but this recruitment still has plenty of room to develop.
