Kentucky’s quarterback recruiting run keeps getting louder, and the Wildcats are back in the mix for another major arm in the 2028 cycle.
Moreno Valley, Calif., Vista Del Lago quarterback Josiah Boyd has cut his list to three schools, with Kentucky joining Oregon and UCLA. That puts the Wildcats in a strong position as Boyd moves toward a decision that is expected in the near future.
Boyd is set to visit Oregon and UCLA this weekend, while Kentucky is expected to bring him to campus for an unofficial visit during the weekend the program hosts LSU from Oct. 9-11. Kentucky is being viewed as a major contender as that process plays out.
This would be another big swing for a program that has built momentum at quarterback under head coach Will Stein and offensive coordinator Joe Sloan. Kentucky held onto Matt Ponatoski in the 2026 cycle, then followed that up by landing top-100 prospect Jake Nawrot in the 2027 class.
Now the Wildcats are trying to keep the momentum rolling with Boyd, a blue-chip target who sits among the top names in the 2028 group. Kentucky has also been making a strong push for five-star recruit Kellan Hall, but Boyd gives the Cats another marquee quarterback to chase.

Kentucky’s growing list of quarterback wins is what stands out most here. If Boyd follows the path of Ponatoski and Nawrot, it would be another signal that the Wildcats have become a real force in QB recruiting.
