Kentucky’s recruiting weekend is loaded, and the headliner might already be in the fold.
Three-star linebacker Drew Williams, a Canton, Ga. native who has continued hearing from Georgia, pushed back on the idea that the Bulldogs are a real threat to pry him away from Kentucky. Williams told KSR that, "It's really nothing to worry about." That’s a useful bit of breathing room for the Wildcats, especially with Williams set to be in Lexington this Saturday for Alabama’s visit.
But Williams is only one piece of a much bigger weekend for Kentucky football.
Will Stein is set to host a wave of high-end talent, and the list starts with 247Sports’ No. 2 overall player in the 2028 class, Kellan Hall. The 6-4 defensive lineman has offers from a long list of powers, including Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas, Notre Dame, and Alabama. He’ll be joined by Antonio Thomas Jr., who checks in at No. 14 nationally in the 2028 class.
The visitor list keeps getting stronger from there. Four-star wide receiver Antwaun Adams and four-star cornerback Phoenix Evans are also expected in Lexington, giving Kentucky a chance to showcase what the early Will Stein era could look like.
One of the most important names on campus will be a player Kentucky already has committed: 2027 top-5 quarterback Jake Nawrot. His presence matters because he can help recruit the other elite visitors around him. With a quarterback of that caliber already locked in, Kentucky can sell the idea of joining a class that’s trying to stack talent around its centerpiece.
That’s not the only heavyweight showing up, either. Mark Pope will bring Lewis Uvwo, a 5-star center, to Kroger Field.
Uvwo is a 6-11 athlete with a 7-6 wingspan, and he’s currently ranked as the seventh-best player in the 2027 class. He plays in Fort Lauderdale.
The setting should match the talent. Kentucky fans have known about the stripeout for weeks and are being asked to wear blue or white depending on their section. The game will kick at 3:30 on ABC, with SEC Nation also in town.
If Kentucky can handle business on the field, the ripple effect could stretch well beyond Saturday’s final whistle.
