Kentucky Basketball fans, get ready for some exciting news. Kam Mercer, the highly-touted shooting guard from Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, is set to make a second visit to Lexington later this month. Ranked as the No. 2 shooting guard and a top-20 player in the class of 2028 by 247Sports, Mercer will be attending the Wildcats’ game against Vanderbilt on February 28.
The 6-foot-4 standout first visited in the fall and was impressed by the strong support for head coach Mark Pope. Since then, Mercer has been turning heads nationwide.
January saw him visiting Ohio State and Louisville, and he’s also made a stop at Xavier. His list of offers is expanding, featuring schools like Ohio State, Louisville, Xavier, Missouri, Cincinnati, Florida State, and more from the high-major basketball scene.
Mercer feels a natural fit with Kentucky’s fast-paced style under Coach Pope. “I love to play fast and space the floor,” he shared. “I can defend multiple positions and play multiple spots, which works perfectly in a high-tempo system.”
With his versatile skill set, Mercer could be a perfect addition to the Wildcats, and his upcoming visit is sure to be watched closely by fans and analysts alike.
